Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our ward based team at Rampton Hospital.
Working closely with our clinical pharmacists and other healthcare professionals the successful candidate will help provide a quality medicines management service to wards across the Trust, supporting medicines optimisation.
Main duties of the job
Main duties will include:
Medicines reconciliationAssessing the suitability of patients' own drugs for use,Ordering named patient medicationCounselling patients about their medicinesCo-ordinating supply of discharge medicinesSupporting audit and quality improvement initiatives.
The post holder will be required to help support the training and staff development of a range of staff including pre-registration pharmacy technicians, pharmacy technicians and trainee pharmacists. There will be regular dispensary slots which will include final accuracy checking.
Please note:While this role meets the current eligibility criteria for visa sponsorship.
Sponsorship is only available for full-time positions. Part-time roles will not meet the minimum salary threshold required for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.

There is a requirement to work across the organisation, with a base at Rampton Hospital. Specialities covered will include Adult Mental Health, Mental Health for Older People, Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Community Healthcare.
You should have previously worked in a hospital pharmacy with experience in a mental health setting desirable but not essential.
Applications from candidates expected to register with the GPhC in the next few months will be considered.
A full UK driving license and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies
