1. Integrated Urgent Care Weekend Treatment Centre Work
A flexible, varied role combining Out of Hours urgent care with weekend daytime sessions in our Treatment Centres, including home visiting.
This option is ideal for GPs who enjoy urgent care, continuity, and predictable weekend work.
- Contracted hours in the Integrated Urgent Care Service (IUCS)
- Evening, overnight, and weekend shifts
- 5-20 hours per week
- Can be arranged on an annualised hours basis
- £68.64 per hour + unsocial hours enhancements
Main duties of the job
2. Winter Pressures Support 6 Month Fixed Term Contract
Support GP practices across Cornwall during the busy winter period. This role offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to make a significant impact across the system.
Ideal for GPs seeking broad experience and meaningful system wide contribution.
- Flexible, reactive work where needed across all GP practices in Cornwall
- Paid at a sessional rate of £350 per session (reflecting the flexibility and temporary arrangement of the winter pressures support)
- Must be able to work confidently on EMIS and System One
- Travel time and mileage from base (Cudmore House, Truro) will be paid
- Must be available for 2 plus sessions a week minimum Mon - Fri
- Can be combined with other roles as a portfolio
3. Locum Work Primary Care Hubs (Minor Injuries & Ailments)
Prefer locum flexibility with no commitment? Work in our Primary Care Hubs supporting minor injuries and ailments.
- Great for GPs who enjoy a varied caseload.
- Locum rates set by individual practices/PCNs
- Typical range: £236.39 £284.04 per session

IUCS Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive medical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans: Apply expert clinical judgement to manage patients with a wide range of acute, chronic, and complex conditions.

- Utilise the medical model of history taking to identify diagnoses and differential diagnoses for patients presenting with unspecified presentations.
- Undertake systems based physical assessment of patients in order to diagnose and manage conditions autonomously.
- Undertake appropriate assessment, diagnosis, treatment or referral of patients booked into the minor illness clinic initiating any treatment as required and ensuring robust safety netting conversations are undertaken with each patient (or the patients carer).
- Make direct referrals to primary, secondary and social services within locally agreed pathways, guidance and protocols where appropriate.
- Ensure that patients receive high quality clinical care, delivered in a timely manner.
- Ensure complete and accurate documentation of each and every patient contact.

- On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor role.
- Maintain accurate contemporaneous clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance using read-coding where appropriate
