Main duties of the job

As a Kitchen Assistant at Akari Care, you'll join a team dedicated to creating a supportive and caring environment for elderly residents. Your role will involve collaborating with the Cook and catering team to ensure smooth kitchen operations, including menu creation, meal plating, and trolley arrangement. The position requires a commitment to respecting diverse cultural and religious backgrounds in meal preparation. Your responsibilities will include ensuring enjoyable and personalized mealtimes for residents, requiring a caring and compassionate approach. Whilst you will be involved in all the practical duties you would expect in a busy care home kitchen it is vitally important to continuously ensure that you are mindful and conscious to individual religious and cultural backgrounds and how this might impact on meal choices, alongside making sure that all our residents feel they have a personalised service.

As the critical link between the kitchen and the serving areas you will be conjointly responsible for caring for our residents. The key focus for us is ensuring mealtimes run smoothly and are an enjoyable experience at Akari Care, where all our residents individual needs are catered for.
