Job summary

We are seeking for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join our busy central outpatient department and the multidisciplinary team, at Imperial College Health Care Trust.

The post holder would support the registered nurses in running the outpatient services, improving patient experience in order to achieve high service qualityThe Health Care Assistant post consists of combined role of clinical, phlebotomy and administrative duties.

We have a range of well supported team of nursing staff to provide you with mentorship. You will have a development opportunity to learn new skills. Excellent communication skills is required for the role.

Main duties of the job

  • To work as part of a team of staff providing clinical support to outpatient clinics under the supervision of registered nursing staff.
  • Ensure all the assigned clinical areas are tidy and ordered at all times and maintain the hygiene and cleanliness of the environment.
  • To facilitate the operation of the central outpatient clinics by managing the flow of patients through clinics maintain the hygiene, cleanliness and orderliness of the clinic environment.
  • To ensure that all necessary information is available for clinics to operate effectively and to record clinical activity and outcomes using the appropriate hospital system.
  • To carry out care tasks (patients' clinical observations) delegated from professionally qualified staff, appropriate within clear guidelines and to supervise less experienced staff in the clinical areas, ensuring patient focused care is delivered.

Education/ qualifications

Essential

  • Certificates of competence in performing basic clinical observations and procedures
  • English Language GCE/GCSE or equivalent
