Job summary

The Children and Young People's (CYPS) Directorate in Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join the Mindworks East Community Hub.

Our Mindworks East Community Hub is split across two sites: Gatton Place (Redhill, RH1 1TA) and Mole Business Park (Leatherhead, KT22 7AD). You will be across both sites, the split will depend on capacity and job planning.

This post will be suitable for a highly motivated psychologist interested in ensuring excellent psychological care is accessible for children and young people with complex mental health needs from diverse backgrounds.

This is a permanent full time (37.5 hours) post.

Applications are invited from Clinical or Counselling Psychologists registered with the HCPC and to Clinical Psychologists currently in training who expect tobecome registered in 2026.

Main duties of the job

  • To carry out comprehensive psychological assessments and formulation. Plan, implement and evaluate delivery of psychology interventions to support children and young people with complex mental health needs.
  • To actively involve people in developing and agreeing their own care plan, to act as an advocate and ensure that there is proper regard for their dignity, choice, self esteem, racial, cultural, sexual and religious needs and preferences.
  • To work creatively to adapt verbal and written communication to meet the needs of people who use our services
  • To undertake comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective risk management plans
  • To positively contribute to divisional and team developments in relation to all aspects of psychology practice
