Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed GP to join Somerford Grove Practice as a GP Partner, working 5-6 sessions per week. This vacancy has arisen as part of succession planning following the forthcoming retirement of a longstanding GP Partner.
We are a well-established training practice caring for more than 11,000 patients in a vibrant and diverse area near Dalston. Following a comprehensive CQC assessment in June 2026, the practice was rated Good.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated GP who wishes to combine high-quality clinical care with an active role in the leadership and future development of the practice. Applicants should have more than three years experience and be patient-centred, clinically confident and collaborative. The successful candidate will support colleagues, contribute fresh ideas and share our commitment to the practices ongoing development, sustainability and success.
Informal enquiries and visits are warmly welcomed.
Main duties of the job
The GP Partner will work as a senior clinical leader and business partner within the practice, providing high-quality general medical services to the registered population while contributing to the strategic direction, governance, financial sustainability and operational development of the organisation.
The post-holder will undertake the full range of GP duties, including assessment, diagnosis, prescribing, long-term condition management, urgent care, clinical administration and continuity of care, in line with GMC standards, the GP contract, local pathways and practice policies. As a Partner, the post-holder will share responsibility for clinical leadership, partnership decision-making, service improvement, workforce development, quality assurance, risk management, safeguarding, patient safety, QOF/enhanced services, CQC compliance and the effective use of practice resources.
The role requires collaborative working with the Partners, Practice Manager, wider multidisciplinary team, PCN, ICB and external stakeholders to ensure safe, responsive, well-led and patient-centred care.
