Job summary

Due to internal promotion, the CNWL all age mental health Single Point of Access has a vacancy for aCAMHS SPABand 7 Team manager. This is an excitingopportunityto join a growing,creativeand innovative service as part of ourmanagement team. We are looking foranexperiencedmentalhealth professional(Nurse, OccupationalTherapist,SocialWorkeror psychological therapist), and itwould be a fantasticcareer progressionfor a Band 6 clinician who wishes to broaden their experienceor a current Band 7 looking for a new challenge.

This dynamic multi-disciplinary servicehas been running sinceJune 2021, offering asingle point of access formental healthtele-triage, signposting, advice and support 24-hours a day, seven days per week, 365 days a yearfor young people under the age of 18.

The CAMHSSPA TeamManagerwillwork closely withtheadult SPA and SHINE Team Managers and with the Clinical Lead for CAMHSSPAto maintaintheday to dayrunning of the service, providing senior clinical input and support to the team, playing a key role in building internal and external interfaces, and contributing to the ongoing development of the SPA.

The CAMHSSPATeam Managerwill be expected to work aflexibleshift pattern, although working nights is notrequiredin this role.

Main duties of the job

Central andNorth WestLondon NHS Trust is committed to providing safe, effective services and providing patients and families with a positive experience.TheCAMHS SPATeam Manageris responsible forthe daily running of the SPA (CAMHS) Team and supports the Clinical Lead in the operational management of the service.

Other responsibilities include:

o Providingmanagement & clinical supervision, coaching, mentoring of existing staff andnew stafftaking up post; andmotivatingand supportingindividuals to achieve theirobjectives.

oContribute to the provision oftraining,coachingand clinical group supervision to the wider all-age SPA.

o Answeringcalls to theCAMHSSPA in a patient and courteous manner, and to screen and prioritise these appropriately.

o Undertakingclinical triageof calls to theCAMHSSPA, deciding on the correct care pathway for that call.

o Referringcallers onto CAMHS local teamswhereappropriateand liaising with teams.

o Signpostingcallers on as necessary into non-statutory, third sector services (Thrive networks).

o Undertakinginitial social care triage,andwhere necessary, signposting and referring on patients asappropriate.

Beingfully conversant with statutory and non-statutory services across Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster, and the provision of CNWLCAMHSservices in each borough.

Essential

  • Relevant professional qualification in either: A psychological or therapeutic field, Mental Health Nursing, Mental Health Social Worker
  • Additional qualifications or training in child and adolescent mental health
  • Educated to degree level

Experience

Essential

  • Substantial experience working in child and adolescent mental health
  • Experience of the Children Act and Safeguarding Children legislation and protocols
  • Significant experience of assessing complex mental health presentations
  • Good understanding of the range of child and adolescent mental health services
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in mental health guidelines/ best practice and the full range of mental health disorders/ illnesses
