Job summary

Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is recruiting a Healthcare Assistant to join our Pre-Operative Assessment Department on a permanent contract. You will join a warm, friendly and supportive team, working full time across Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 6:00pm.

Main duties of the job

Assisting nurses with comprehensive pre-operative assessments. Carrying out routine tasks related to the delivery of care to ensure our patients' health and wellbeing. Updating patient records accurately and maintaining high standards of documentation.

Healthcare Assistant | Pre Assessment | Cambridge | Permanent | Full Time | 37.5 | Monday - Friday Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is recruiting a Healthcare Assistant to join our Pre-Operative Assessment Department on a permanent contract. You will join a warm, friendly and supportive team, working full time across Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 6:00pm. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Healthcare Assistant looking to develop their skills within a busy and patient-focused clinical environment while supporting patients through their pre-operative journey. Duties and Responsibilities - Assisting nurses with comprehensive pre-operative assessments. - Carrying out routine tasks related to the delivery of care to ensure our patients' health and wellbeing. - Updating patient records accurately and maintaining high standards of documentation. - Ensuring medical questionnaires and associated documentation are completed. - Booking appointments and coordinating further tests when required. - Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection procedures. - Supporting patients who may feel anxious about upcoming surgery. - Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver an excellent patient experience. Who We're Looking For - Previous experience working within a clinical setting (hospital or GP surgery) is essential. - As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a fundamental role in providing healthcare support to our clinical team and ensuring patients receive the highest standards of personal care. - Strong system literacy and confidence using electronic patient records. - Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. - Experience assisting nurses with comprehensive pre-operative assessments. - Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Basic clinical skills and knowledge of patient care. - Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection requirements.
