Job summary

Job Title: CTF ST3+ General Medicine

Division: Medicine and Emergency Care

Salary: £45,715 - £48,309 Per annum/pro rata

Responsible to: Clinical Director

Accountable to: Lead Clinician

We are recruiting a CTF ST3+ to support two general medical wards. These wards will have patients who do not fall into the remit of a specific medical speciality or are thought to have complex medical problems involving multiple systems and co morbidities.These wards may also have patients of some specific medical speciality with clear plans documented from the speciality team.

Job responsibilities

The post holders will be responsible for day to day running of the wards under supervision of a consultant . They are expected to be able to independently see patients, formulate appropriate management plans and liase with the consultant, if needed, as well. They would ideally be independent in performing procedures. They would be expected to liase with different specialties and supervise and teach juniors. The postholder will participate in GIM on call rota at registrar level in 1in 9 frequency.

Medway Maritime Hospital offers excellent clinical learning opportunities as well as regular formal teaching to support professional development. To facilitate career progression, we are proud to offer dedicated time for Quality Improvement Projects and Audits in the rota (subject to agreement with project supervisor). There is opportunity to participate in the MediLead Leadership development programme. We will encourage the successful candidates to gain sub-specialty interest to progress in their career and maintain an electronic e-portfolio.
