Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Booking Assistant to join our Clinical Administration Booking Team based at the Administration Hub in Huntingdon. This key role supports the delivery of an efficient, high-quality booking service, helping to ensure patients receive appointments and admissions within appropriate timescales and experience a smooth journey through their care pathway.
The post holder will be responsible for arranging outpatient appointments and inpatient admissions, communicating with patients by telephone, and maintaining accurate patient information across multiple IT systems. You will be professional, tactful, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a busy team. A strong work ethic, accountability, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. Full training and support will be provided.
Main duties of the job
Provide a patient-focused, high quality, efficient and complete administrative support service and customer care experience
Working within a centralised booking team to include organising and booking inpatient admissions and outpatient appointments
Responsibility for the delivery of an aspect of the service which will include the tasks required to deliver that service taking action where necessary, and escalate any potential issues to the Team Leader. This may also include day to day supervision of other team members
