Job summary

A Senior Clinical Fellow is sought to work as part of the specialist Upper GI Surgery team at Imperial College NHS Trust starting in January 2027. The successful candidate will be a senior registrar equivalent with significant experience in Upper GI Surgery looking to further develop their knowledge and skills in this area. The candidate must have achieved, or be working towards their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent. Whilst the post is not formally recognised as a training post by the deanery, excellent teaching and training opportunities exist for the successful candidate.

The Upper GI surgical service moved to the Hammersmith (HH) site in March 2019. It is the regional upper GI cancer unit for north-west London and parts of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire and offers a range of routine and highly specialised surgical procedures, including:

o Specialist oesophago-gastric cancer (open and minimally invasive)

o Specialist laparoscopic services for benign upper gastrointestinal surgery, including reflux disease, achalesia and other motility disorders

o Redo and reconstructive gastric surgery for benign disease

There are strong links with a vibrant gastro-intestinal physician unit which is the network centre for the management of early cancers, with excellent diagnostic and radiological input in a multi-professional setting.

Please note that this vacancy may close early if a high volume of applications is received.
