Are you an organised, forward thinking manager who can bring out the best in people and keep a busy practice running smoothly?
The Oaks Family Practice is an NHS GP training practice in Bolton, caring for approximately 6,800 patients. We are looking for a capable Practice Manager to work closely with our three GP partners and lead the day to day running and development of our practice.
You will oversee practice finances, including budgets, cash flow, payroll, pensions and income, alongside staff management, recruitment, service delivery and regulatory compliance. You will help us meet NHS contractual and quality targets while supporting a positive working environment and responsive patient care. Strong financial and people management skills are essential, and substantial HR experience would be particularly welcome.

Main duties of the job
You will lead the daily running of the practice, turning the partners priorities into practical plans and ensuring our people, finances and systems work effectively together.
Your main responsibilities will include
Managing budgets, cash flow, accounts, payroll and pensions, with clear financial reporting to the partners.
Ensuring practice income is claimed accurately and on time, monitoring expenditure and identifying opportunities to improve value.
Leading and supporting staff through recruitment, induction, appraisals, training and fair management of performance and absence.
Coordinating delivery of NHS contractual requirements and quality targets, monitoring progress and addressing shortfalls with clinical leads.
Improving appointment access and administrative processes so patients receive a well organised, responsive service.
Overseeing complaints, governance, regulatory compliance, premises, IT and business continuity.
Working with the Primary Care Network, commissioners and professional advisers to support service development.
The role combines hands on problem solving with longer term planning. You will need to prioritise competing demands, handle sensitive issues confidently and keep the partners informed, while helping colleagues deliver excellent patient care.
