Main duties of the job

Responsible for delivering safe, person-centred nursing care to a defined group of patients, working collaboratively with patients, families, carers and the multidisciplinary team. Duties include assessing, planning, delivering and reviewing care, monitoring patients conditions and responding appropriately to changes in their needs, while maintaining accurate care plans and promoting patient choice. The role involves prioritising and delegating nursing duties, acting as nurse in charge when required, managing medicines safely, addressing concerns and complaints, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment. It also includes supporting newly qualified staff through preceptorship, participating in clinical supervision, reflective practice, meetings and ongoing professional development, while adhering to safeguarding requirements, the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, NMC Code, and organisational policies and procedures.
