An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated person to join the Radiotherapy Support Workers Team on a full-time, permanent basis. The post holder will be based in Aintree, however, the successful candidate will be required when needed, to cross cover sites to meet the needs of the service.

• To assist all members of the MDT in all sections of the department to provide a comprehensive, efficient and effective service.
• To perform clinical and clerical duties; provide hands on care, assistance and emotional support to patients and their carers.
• To prepare and run assigned weekly treatment review clinics and phlebotomy.

Main duties of the job

The role of a Radiotherapy Support Worker is to primarily support the patients and the radiographers within the radiotherapy department. It is a diverse role, with clinical and clerical aspects to the role. A few examples of what you will be expected to do include; chaperoning patients, participating in the phlebotomy service taking bloods, recording patients observations using the National Early Warnings Scoring system and assisting in our brachytherapy and Papillon suite.
