Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised and proactive Reception Coordinator to join our friendly team at The Meads Medical Practice.
We are looking for either an experienced Reception Coordinator/Supervisor or an experienced GP Receptionist, Care Navigator or Administrator who is ready to take the next step in their career.
This role would suit someone looking to develop their leadership and coordination skills whilst continuing to work as part of a busy reception team.
Working closely with the Operations Lead and Business Manager, you will help ensure the smooth running of our reception and administrative functions whilst supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the reception team, coordinating day-to-day operations, assisting with rota management, supporting new starters and maintaining a professional, efficient and welcoming service for our patients.
This is a hands-on role and, alongside coordinator responsibilities, the successful candidate will continue to participate in the reception rota and support the wider team.
Salary: £13.61 per hour, rising to £13.76 following successful completion of probation and demonstration of the required Reception Coordinator competencies.
Further progression to £13.90 per hour may be available through continued development within the role.
Salary is also subject to future national and Practice pay awards.
Main duties of the job
The Reception Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of the reception and administration team, helping to ensure the efficient delivery of front-line services and maintaining high standards of patient care and customer service.
Working closely with the Operations Lead and Business Manager, the successful candidate will assist with coordinating staffing, rotas, annual leave and workload allocation, whilst providing day-to-day guidance and support to reception and administrative colleagues.
This is a hands-on role and the successful candidate will continue to participate in the reception rota alongside coordinator responsibilities. Duties will include managing patient enquiries, supporting care navigation, booking appointments, overseeing clinical and administrative workflows, managing document processing and supporting the induction and training of new staff.
The postholder will play an important role in maintaining an effective and supportive working environment, acting as a first point of contact for routine operational issues and assisting with the development of practice systems, processes and service improvements.
This role would suit either an experienced Reception Coordinator or an experienced GP Receptionist, Care Navigator or Administrator looking to develop their leadership and coordination skills within a supportive environment.
