Job summary

This role is located in Camden Learning Disabilities Service (CLDS). CLDS is a fully integrated health and social care multi-disciplinary team for adults with learning disabilities living in the London Borough of Camden (LBC). CLDS is based in LBC premises, but maintains very strong and active links with NLFT (e.g. training, professional development, overarching clinical and professional governance). CLDS also provides health input to the Alexandra Centre (a Further Education college for young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and / or autistic spectrum conditions). Psychological work at the Alexandra Centre includes support for staff and student wellbeing through assessment, observation, and the application of behavioural and psychological approaches. The post holder will work across both CLDS and the Alexandra Centre.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support and enhance the psychological work with the people who access the Camden Learning Disabilities Service including those people who attend the Alexandra Centre; providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, attending team meetings as appropriate, working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits and service evaluations, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects and other project work.
