Job summary
The role we are currently recruiting for is a Senior Recovery Worker within our Shrewsbury service to support the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community. Not only are we committed to putting them at the heart of everything we do, we recognise they should be involved in decisions that affect their future too, which plays a crucial role in the support and rehabilitation of individuals dealing with mental health issues and substance misuse. This position sits just below the Team Leader and involves overseeing the work of Support Workers while directly engaging with clients to support their recovery journey.
The Senior Recovery Worker is responsible for implementing recovery plans, providing supervision and mentorship to new staff members and ensuring high-quality care delivery to all clients that use our services.
Main duties of the job
Team Leadership and Supervision: Provide daily supervision and support to Support Workers, ensuring they are effectively carrying out their duties with support from team leader. Conduct regular team meetings to discuss clients' progress and address any issues or challenges faced by the team with support from team leader. Training and Development: Mentor and train new staff members, fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Coordination and Collaboration: Work closely with the Team Leader and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for clients. Participate in team meetings, sharing insights and updates on clients' progress
Crisis Management: Respond to emergencies and provide immediate support and intervention as needed. Develop and implement crisis management plans to help clients navigate difficult situations and prevent relapse.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients' progress, interventions and outcomes. Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory requirements and organisational policies.

Experience: Extensive experience in mental health or substance misuse recovery, including direct client care. Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a healthcare or social service setting.

Excellent organisational and documentation skills.
Crisis intervention and problem-solving abilities.
