We are looking for a confident, compassionate & committed Social Worker Assistant to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Bierley.

This role will be full time, 40 hours per week.

Cygnet Hospital Bierley provides a range of acute and low secure mental health services for men and women. The hospital is set across four wards offering single-sex male and female specialist mental health services.

All our services are provided under the umbrella of a recovery orientated approach and are reviewed through the CPA framework.

Maximising positive outcomes & recovery for our clients it's a challenging, satisfying vocation.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • To assist the Social Workers to ensure that the discipline meets all the identified needs of the service users and (where appropriate) their families.
  • Work in partnership with service users, families & other stakeholders
  • Contribute to the provision of high-quality care for patients
  • Forge links & maintain contact with other statutory agencies
  • Lead on the social care needs of patients
  • Ensure that patients & their families/carers are aware of their legal rights
  • Ensure safeguarding in multidisciplinary teams & provide reports for MDTs & others.

You are...

  • Experienced in working within a mental health setting, or passionate about this field
  • Knowledgeable of safeguarding, H&S, data protection, confidentiality, equality & diversity
  • An excellent communicator with exceptional interpersonal, IT & telephone skills
  • Aware of the Mental Health Act
  • Skilled in report writing with excellent literacy skills & attention to detail.
