Community Mental Health Team - Older adult service Manager - Coventry

Full time, permanent role based in Coventry

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic manager to co lead our Older Adult Community Mental Health Team.

The service has an overall CQC rating of Good and a rating of Outstanding for care and compassion of which we are rightly proud. We have also been recognised both locally and nationally by receiving awards for the services we provide.

You will be part of a management team including another team manager, Operational Manager, clinical leads and social care team managers. We provide excellent evidence based care to older adults across Coventry with secondary care mental health needs including patients requiring memory assessment or dementia care.

This team is proactive in embedding and utilising multidisciplinary roles to provide outcome focused interventions to service users, whilst meeting local and national targets.

As the successful candidate you must have a professional qualification i.e., nursing, occupational therapist or social worker, with substantial post registration experience as a qualified professional of which you will have recent experience working with clients within a secondary care mental health setting.

The working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. You may occasionally need to work flexibly outside regular office hours to respond to service user need.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the day to day management of the team and will have experience in the leadership and supervision of clinical staff and have excellent knowledge of health and social care policy relating to the delivery of mental health care.

As a Team Manager you will be expected to input into service evaluations and audits as well as carry out the managerial responsibilities of appraisals, managing sickness/absence and training for staff. Innovation and a creative approach are encouraged and being a positive role model is essential. The team consists of a number of professionals which include nurses, social workers, AMHPs, occupational therapists and psychologists some of whom you will be expected to line manage directly.
