Job summary
Clinical administration is changing, and we're leading the way.
Are you passionate about helping people learn, develop and reach their full potential?
As one of two new Clinical Administration Training and Development Leads, you'll play a key role in supporting the growth and success of our workforce.
One lead will focus on the training and development of Service Co-ordinators and another on Ward & Reception staff.
Working with colleagues across the organisation, you'll help shape learning experiences, support people through change and build confidence in the skills, systems and technologies that underpin modern healthcare administration. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys coaching, mentoring and helping others succeed.
As part of our newly transformed Clinical Administration Service, you'll join a workforce that is investing in people, innovation and the future. With opportunities to influence how training and development is delivered across the service, you'll help put professional administration careers firmly on the map.
If you're an engaging communicator, a natural coach and passionate about developing others, we'd love to hear from you.
Transforming services. Reimagining careers. Join us and help shape the future of healthcare administration.
Main duties of the job
You'll work closely with managers, teams and project colleagues to support development, deliver training and help create a culture of continuous learning. From supporting new starters to helping experienced colleagues embrace new ways of working, you'll make a lasting impact on both individuals and services.
About us
Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT) is at the heart of acute and specialist care for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We care for a population of around 470,000 people, a number that increases during visitor seasons. We employ around 6,700 staff, united by a shared commitment to deliver safe, high-quality care. We provide services across three main hospital sites, with around 780 inpatient beds:
Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro
St Michael's Hospital in Hayle
West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance
As a teaching hospital, we're proud to work in partnership with the University of Exeter Medical School, the University of Plymouth School of Nursing and Midwifery, and Peninsula Dental School, supporting the next generation of health professionals. We're committed to staying at the forefront of medical advance; investing in our people, developing our facilities, and expanding the specialist care we can offer locally so more patients can receive the care they need closer to home. We have a growing reputation for research and innovation that helps shape better care for the future. The Knowledge Spa, located on our Truro site, is a vibrant hub for medical, nursing and professional education across clinical and non-clinical roles. It plays a vital role in attracting, developing and retaining highly skilled teams.
We are driven by one clear ambition, Outstanding Care for One and All, care that's safe, kind and high-quality. We are RCHT.

Our recruitment process
To give candidates the opportunity to explore the full range of opportunities available, we are recruiting all Clinical Administration roles through a single recruitment process.
If shortlisted, you'll be invited to attend our Talent Assessment Centre where we'll discuss your preferred locations, working pattern and the roles you'd like to be considered for, helping us find the opportunity that's right for you.
When you apply, you will be applying to the Band 3 Clinical Administration Talent Pool rather than a specific vacancy. If shortlisted, you will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre at The Knowledge Spa, Truro, on Saturday 31 October 2026.
The assessment centre will provide an opportunity for you to demonstrate your skills, experience and strengths through a variety of activities, while also learning more about our new Clinical Administration Service and the roles available.
During the day, we'll discuss your experience, interests and career aspirations with you and identify which of the available opportunities you would like to be considered for. This allows us to match talented individuals to the roles that best suit their skills, strengths and future ambitions.
We encourage you to apply regardless of your preferred working pattern, and if shortlisted, we'll discuss the opportunities available and the options that best suit your circumstances at the Assessment Centre.
Please reserve Saturday 31 October 2026 in your diary should you be shortlisted, as attendance at the Assessment Centre will be required.
If you're looking for a career where your skills can make a genuine difference, we'd love to hear from you.
