Job summary

We are looking for someone to join our reception and administration team. This involves helping patients and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

Were looking for someone who is:

  • Flexible with their working days and hours and is available Monday to Friday between 7:45 and 18:45

Working pattern

25-hour per week, fixed term contract.

Main duties of the job

Main duties include:

  • Welcoming patients and dealing with enquiries in person and by telephone.
  • Booking, changing and cancelling appointments using the clinical system.
  • Signposting patients to the most appropriate service or clinician using practice protocols.
  • Processing patient requests, including prescriptions, test results and general queries.
  • Registering new patients and keeping patient information accurate and up to date.
  • Handling confidential and sensitive information in line with GDPR and practice policies.
  • Supporting clinicians with administrative tasks, messages and patient correspondence.
  • Managing incoming documents, emails, post and other communications.
  • Working closely with the wider practice team to support the smooth day-to-day running of the surgery.
  • Dealing professionally and sensitively with patients who may be unwell, distressed or frustrated.
