Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Dermatology Clinician to join our team, providing high-quality, patient-centred dermatology services in a community or hospital setting. The successful candidate will assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of dermatological conditions, support timely identification of suspected skin cancers, and work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver safe, effective care.
We welcome applications from experienced GPs with an Extended Role in Dermatology (GPwER) as well as hospital-based Consultant Dermatologists with relevant qualifications and experience. This is an excellent opportunity to use your expertise, contribute to service development and make a meaningful difference to patients' lives within a supportive and forward-thinking team.
Main duties of the job
The GPwER in Community Dermatology will deliver high-quality specialist dermatology care to patients referred to the PriDerm community service. The post holder will independently assess, diagnose, investigate, treat and manage patients within their demonstrated competence, agreed scope of practice, service specification and local clinical pathways.
The role supports care closer to home, appropriate use of secondary care services and timely access to dermatology assessment. The post holder will manage an agreed caseload, prescribe and monitor treatment where appropriate, arrange and review investigations, and ensure onward referral when a patient's needs fall outside the service's scope. Minor procedures may form part of the role where the clinician is trained, competent and authorised to perform them.
Clinical practice must comply with relevant professional standards, NICE guidance, applicable NHS and local commissioning requirements, PriDerm policies, contractual obligations and clinical governance arrangements.
