Job summary

We are looking for an approachable, organised, and proactive Band 4 Administration Coordinator to join our Children and Young People and Eating Disorders team on-site.

In this key operational role, you will lead and support our administrative team--including Band 2 Administrative Assistants and Band 3 Administrators--ensuring our daily business and performance targets run seamlessly.

If you excel at managing workloads, motivating colleagues, and maintaining effective administrative processes, we would love to hear from you.

Please note: This role is based in the office full-time to provide direct, daily support to the team. The office space is accessed via multiple flights of stairs with restricted accessibility.

Main duties of the job

  • Team Supervision & Leadership: Provide day-to-day operational management, line management, and performance support to Band 2 and Band 3 administrative staff.

  • Workload & Rota Coordination: Allocate daily tasks, coordinate team rotas, and manage staff attendance to maintain consistent service coverage.

  • Process & Systems Management: Implement and oversee efficient administrative systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with service standards.

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist with recruiting new team members and coordinate comprehensive induction programmes for new starters.

  • Service Improvement & Engagement: Encourage clear communication within the team, boost staff engagement, and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.

About us

We are Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust. We care for the mental health and wellbeing of people across Kent and Medway.

Our teams support children, young people and adults with a wide range of mental health needs. We also provide specialist services, including all-age eating disorder services and neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people, such as autism and ADHD.

Because we work across the whole county and across hospital and community settings, we can make care more joined up and easier to access for the people we serve.

Our vision is simple: we are here to help communities not just live with mental illness, but live well. It's why we're passionate about working with communities to make mental health care better for everyone. Everything we do is guided by our values: caring, inclusive, curious and confident.

Join us if you share our passion for better mental health care and want to be part of a team that's working well together.
