The Children and Young People's Complex Care Team is seeking a clinician for a six-month Band 8a secondment/fixed term opportunity, supporting services across Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster.

This is an opportunity to provide experienced leadership within a collaborative team supporting children and young people with complex needs and those at risk of placement breakdown or hospital admission.

You will join a service recognised through local SEND inspections for strong multi-agency working, governance and collaborative practice.

Main duties of the job

You will provide senior clinical and operational leadership to the Complex Care Team, working closely with NHS, local authority and provider partners to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing complex placements and care packages, prioritising high-risk and high-cost cases.

  • Supporting children and young people at risk of hospital admission or placement breakdown through Dynamic Support Registers, CETRs,LAEPs and CPA processes.

  • Supporting safe and timely discharge and managing complex escalations.

  • Contributing to Section 117 and joint-funding decisions with local authorities.

  • Managing safeguarding, placement quality and provider concerns, liaising with the CQC where required.

  • Working collaboratively with ICB, NHS, local authority, provider and voluntary-sector partners.

  • Maintaining effective financial oversight, case records, quality assurance and performance monitoring.

  • Ensuring appropriate governance and compliance with legal, regulatory, confidentiality and data protection requirements.
