Main duties of the job

• Responsible for the advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients, provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.

• Work in the Rehabilitation team in a flexible way to meet the needs of the service across the East of Berkshire, to provide care to patients where the need is greatest.
• Undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations / multi pathologies; use advanced clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition.
• Formulate and deliver an individual physiotherapy treatment programmed based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of treatment skills. Able to delegate this treatment program to unqualified therapy support workers, for them to continue to manage the patients rehabilitation safely and effectively.

• Assess patient understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid informed consent and have capacity to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
