It is a dynamic and fast paced role for a registered and experienced mental health nurse who can work as both a core member of the MDT and also an autonomous practitioner to achieve the best outcomes for people of working and older age referred to our service by The Princess Royal Hospital for assessment of their presenting mental health need and associated risks.

You will be working at the interface between physical and psychological health and bring your knowledge and expertise to your general hospital colleagues. You will work within our MDT in order to provide specialist assessment, treatment and discharge planning to those patients with functional and organic mental health conditions.

Main duties of the job

We support patients referred to our service with a wide range of physical and psychological co-morbidities including those people presenting to mental health services for the very first time.

You will need to be able to work autonomously and have excellent communication skills and be able to foster excellent relationships with patients, carers, general hospital colleagues and other parts of the health and social care system.

We offer comprehensive biopsychosocial mental health assessments for all mental health presentations for people aged over 18. We work in collaboration with people referred to our service and their loved ones by offering timely interventions to support those presenting in crisis.
