Job summary

Band 5 Physiotherapist Short Term Care Beds.

Are you ready for a new challenge? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Physiotherapist to join the Short-Term Care Beds Service on a permanent basis.

The service provides short-term rehabilitation for individuals who no longer require acute hospital care but are not yet able to safely return home.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and supporting adults to maximise their independence and recovery.

Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will assess, treat, and rehabilitate patients with a wide range of physical and functional needs.

You will play a key role in improving mobility, strength, balance, and confidence, helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals and supporting safe discharge planning.

You will work closely with Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Healthcare Support Workers, and other professionals to provide coordinated care. Regular supervision, support from experienced senior therapists, and ongoing development opportunities will be available to help you build your clinical skills and confidence.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or developing Physiotherapist to gain valuable experience in rehabilitation and intermediate care while making a meaningful difference to patients' lives.

Main duties of the job

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or developing Band 5 Physiotherapist to gain experience within a community rehabilitation setting.

The role offers a varied caseload, supporting patients with long-term conditions, falls prevention, mobility difficulties, and rehabilitation following illness, injury, or hospital admission.

You will assess, treat, and support patients in a holistic, person-centred way, helping them maximise independence, improve physical function, and achieve their goals.

Using evidence-based practice and self-management approaches, you will empower patients to take an active role in their recovery and wellbeing.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Rehabilitation Assistants, and other healthcare professionals. Regular supervision, support, and development opportunities will be provided to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge.

Key responsibilities include undertaking physiotherapy assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, delivering rehabilitation programmes, and evaluating outcomes.

You will work with patients, carers, and families to promote independence, confidence, and participation in daily activities while supporting safe discharge planning.
