Job summary
We are seeking a dynamic Mental Health Nurse to join our Adult Eating Disorders Day Care Service. The role will be based at our main service hub at the Farnham Road Hospital, Guildford.
The post holder will be joining what are well-established outpatient and day care facilities for working age adults with moderate to severe eating disorders.
The successful applicant will become an integral member of the Adult Eating Disorders Day Care team and will provide specialist intensive treatment to adults (18 years +) with moderate to severe eating disorders and co-existing mental health needs.
Main duties of the job
Independently and comprehensively assess clients referred to Day Care, care plan, monitor physical and mental health risks in conjunction with the MDT, evaluate and plan discharge.
To provide holistic support to clients through individual 'key working' sessions.
Lead on meal time supervision and support.
Deputise for the Day Care manager when necessary and lead on shift coordination.
Be responsible for carrying out a range of therapeutic interventions with the client in concordance with NICE guidelines, either individually or in a group setting.
To be able to liaise, advise and offer support to other associated mental health agencies regarding Eating Disorder matters.
