Job summary

This is great opportunity to join our dedicated Business team within Navigo Corporate Services on an 18 month fixed term or secondment basis. The role supports business units across clinical and non-clinical service areas, liaising with service area leads to drive service improvement, and provides efficient and effective support services in respect of business development

There is also the opportunity for a candidate to be recruited into this role as a developmental opportunity on a Band 5 working alongside the existing Business Development team to understand the processes and approaches to business support at Navigo, and to work with the team to develop the skills necessary to become a successful business development manager. Working across a full range of all age service areas, projects and stakeholders, you will become familiar with all aspects of the business development role working independently and as part of the team. You will be increasingly expected to work independently.

Main duties of the job

The role will provide business development and project management support throughout Navigo

This will include:

- Supporting colleagues across Navigo and NEL partners with the development of ideas/innovations aimed at improving service delivery

- Supporting the development of business cases

- Developing delivery plans with key partners within services

- Playing a key role in the successful implementation of service transformation

- Co-ordinating the engagement of key stakeholders, including service users and carers to ensure proposals and co-produced

- Writing tenders with colleagues and seeking out grant funding and tendering opportunities

- Providing high quality project management support

- Supporting the development and delivery of Navigo trading arms

- Providing regular project updates across various forums

- Using complex spreadsheets and databases to record all related activities

Job responsibilities

Role responsibilities:

* Supporting the team to provide efficient and effective support services in respect of business development and project management. For example, devising and implementing systems to support the development and ongoing business of the organisation; delivery of business growth-based projects; market research/scoping and service operationalisation..

Supporting colleagues across Navigo and NEL partners with the development of ideas/innovations aimed at improving service delivery across all ages, including supporting the preparation of business cases and supporting delivery plans. Investigating opportunities for development of such new business areas and assess associated risks of potential ventures.

Supporting transformational change across operational service areas, requiring engagement with wider stakeholders at a Place level including Childrens Social Care, health providers, education, Primary Care Networks, Local Authority, Integrated Care Board, NELC, HCP, the Voluntary and Community sector, service users and carers.

Undertaking Horizon Scanning exercises, ensuring details of potential new/existing opportunities are clearly disseminated across the organisation. This may include working closely with Navigo's Communications and Marketing Team to undertake marketing, research, event promotion, awareness raising and networking opportunities.

Providing periodic updates to the Membership Board and other forums.

Work collaboratively with the Senior Corporate Affairs Manager of Navigo to develop and nurture relationships with potential partners, including within the third and corporate sectors.

Ensure service user, community membership and experts by experience are actively engaged in all projects and service developments

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working within a large complex organisation.
  • Proven track record of successful project support
  • Knowledge of maintaining setting up administration and filing systems
  • Knowledge of health and safety issues in a complex environment and the implications of poor compliance

Desirable

  • Proven track record of successful tender production support
  • Proven track record of achieving targets for generating income through commercial products and services
  • Proven track record of success with attaining grants, tenders and awards
  • Attained Health & Safety qualification to at least IOSH
  • Has an evidence Portfolio

Qualifications

Essential

  • Evidence of a sound educational background including Maths and English
  • RSA III Typing and Word Processing or skills to equivalent standard
  • Advanced IT qualification or in depth experience of using Microsoft Office or equivalent experience.

Desirable

  • Management Qualification to Level 4 or above or equivalent experience
  • Attained recognised business administration/secretarial qualifications
  • Certificate in Capital Investment Planning (Return on Investment)
  • Project Management Qualification or experience of providing project officer support to projects/programmes of work
