Job Advert - Band 8B, Head of Financial Planning and Performance
This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours) post. Secondments will be considered.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Finance Team as the Head of Financial Planning and Performance within Aneurin Bevan UHB. We are looking for an experienced Accountant with exceptional IT skills who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and has an appetite for helping to drive future transformational change.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for consolidating and summarising the monthly reported financial position and reporting the monthly financial position to both the Welsh Assembly Government and to the Health Board via its Board papers.
This role will also be responsible for coordinating and developing the Health Board's financial plan. The role will include developing innovative solutions and development of models which facilitate clear and timely reporting to a wide range of stakeholders.
The individual will be expected to make a contribution to the development and implementation of financial policies, which facilitate the achievement of the HB's financial objectives.
Applicants should possess an excellent understanding of financial and governance requirements, have the ability to demonstrate wider business partnering skills and possess the necessary IT acumen in order to develop reporting solutions.
You will ideally have financial planning, management and business partnering accounting experience in the NHS, or a similar large organisation; in an environment dealing with complex issues. You will have excellent analytical and communication skills and be able to maintain excellent relationships with both finance and non-finance staff, with the ability to present financial data to a variety of individuals and groups in order to influence decision making.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Educated to masters degree level or equivalent work experience
