Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and compassionate Band 5 HCPC-registered Radiographer to join our dedicated team of skilled and supportive professionals, helping to deliver high-quality imaging services to women, children, young people, and families across the West Midlands and beyond.
Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is home to one of the busiest specialist radiology services in the country, providing imaging services for approximately 110,000 patients each year. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading specialist organisation and develop your skills within a unique and rewarding clinical environment.
The role offers the opportunity to rotate across both Birmingham Women's Hospital and Birmingham Children's Hospital, gaining experience in a variety of diagnostic imaging areas including General Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Theatre Imaging, Dental Imaging, Mobile Imaging, across paediatric and women's imaging services. This rotational role is designed to support professional development and provide a broad range of clinical experiences across both hospital sites.
The successful candidate will be committed to delivering a high-quality, family-centred, and patient-focused diagnostic imaging service, ensuring an excellent experience for women, children, young people, and their families throughout their care journey.
Main duties of the job
As a Rotational Radiographer at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering a comprehensive diagnostic imaging service across both hospital sites.
The post holder will undertake a broad range of diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensuring a consistently high standard of clinical practice in accordance with departmental protocols, professional standards, and evidence-based guidelines. You will be responsible for producing and evaluating high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring examinations are performed safely, effectively, and with the patient's needs at the centre of care.
You will be expected to assess, prioritise, and organise your own workload within the clinical area, working collaboratively with colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team to support effective patient pathways and service delivery. The role will also involve participation in clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing professional development activities to support both personal and departmental development.
Following completion of a comprehensive and supported preceptorship program, the post holder will be required to participate in the departmental out-of-hours service, including on-call and shift working, weekends, and bank holidays, in line with service requirements and rota commitments.
About us
Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is the first of its type in the UK. Our Trust was formed in February 2017 to drive forward our commitment to provide the highest quality, world-class physical and mental health care for our women, children and families. Uniting our hospitals means more seamless care; more investment to make greater advances in our specialist treatment and world-leading neo-natal and fetal work. Importantly, it also gives us a greater voice in shaping the future of family-centred care.
Birmingham Children's Hospital is a UK leading specialist paediatric centre with an international reputation in several areas.
Birmingham Women's Hospital is one of two dedicated women's hospitals in the UK, with the busiest single site maternity unit, delivering more than 8,200 babies a year offering a full range of gynaecological, maternity and neonatal care.
Our Trust is committed to creating the best place to work. We believe in promoting and enhancing inclusion, diversity and equality and encourage applications from all areas of the community, who meet the criteria for the role, regardless of age, gender identity, disability, race, religion or sexual orientation.

We are looking for a forward-thinking and highly motivated individual to join us on our service development journey.
This post would be ideal for an experienced Paediatric Audiologist / Clinical Scientists who would like to further develop their service development, leadership, management and advanced clinical skills. You will be working alongside our other team leaders, reporting to the Head of Paediatric Audiology. This is a full-time post, but we would be happy to consider applicants interested in a part time contract (minimum 22.5hrs/week).
Main duties of the job
The role is primarily concerned with the delivery of advanced clinical practice in paediatric audiology including behavioural testing in children considered non-routine, objective testing, and hearing aid fitting and verification. In addition, this post carries service development and line-management responsibilities. Evidence of further specialist training and experience in paediatric audiology in an NHS context is expected, including provision of hearing aids. You will have highly developed skills in undertaking developmentally appropriate audiological assessments in children of all ages, including those considered non-routine.
About us
OUH is one of the UK's largest teaching hospital trusts. We provide a comprehensive paediatric audiology service including assessing babies referred from the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme, the behavioural and objective assessment of children of all ages and the habilitation of children with hearing loss.
