Job summary
We are looking for 2 enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our friendly team to support us to provide a high quality and efficient Microbiology diagnostic service to our patients and users of our service.
You will be working alongside Biomedical Scientists and Associate Practitioners, delivering high quality care for the patients of the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The post holders will be expected to demonstrate flexibility and self-organisation within their work and the department will provide training and support throughout.
Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at the hospital site. Remote interviews will not be available.
Main duties of the job
Main duties include:
- Receipt and sorting of samples into the department
- Pre analytical preparation of samples
- Data inputting of patient information/requests onto the laboratory computer
- Telephone enquiry and results service
- Assisting in the general cleanliness and tidying of the section
- Routine analyser preparation and operation
Requirements of the post:
- Previous experience of patient data inputting and any typing qualifications are desirable, but not essential.
- Flexible and logical approach to work, good telephone manner, and team working are all personal qualities which are essential to this role.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the Endoscopy unit to add to their team. This is due to the increase in demand for the service and the opening of further theatre space.
The job role would include being involved with patients admissions and discharges, along with assisting Endoscopists with procedures diagnostic and therapeutic.
The job role comes with a full 6-12 month training package which includes completing your care certificate. You will be teamed up with a buddy who will mentor and assist you with your training throughout.

Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified Fleet Vehicle Technician, based at Northampton workshop. The role involves maintaining a range of vehicles operated by the Trust including ambulances, fast response cars and support vehicles. Main duties of the job
The job will entail the servicing and mechanical repairs of our double crewed ambulances and fast response vehicles. It is an exciting opportunity to broaden your mechanical experience to work on the specialist equipment on emergency service vehicles.
An appropriate qualification in Motor Vehicle Engineering is essential. Level 2 applicants maybe considered.
A C1 driving licence is essential for this post so a candidate must have C1 category on their licence or commit to obtaining within the 1st year of employment.
The current working hours are 08:00-16:00, Monday to Friday, with weekend and Bank Holiday working available through overtime opportunities. There is also the potential for a future rota review which will attract USH enhancements.

It is an exciting opportunity to join the EMAS Fleet team in supporting the front line services to be able to respond to patient needs in an emergency situation.At Northampton, we are a small busy team who believes in providing the best possible service. York Hospital Pharmacy department are looking to recruit a well-motivated, forward-thinking professional that would like to work in the clinical Medicines Management Team.

You will need to hold a recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification (BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences, NVQ level 3 or equivalent) and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Core service hours are Monday to Friday 08:45 - 17:15 and you will contribute to the weekend rota (roughly 1 in 8) and bank holiday rota (roughly 1 per year).
Main duties of the job
Your role as an MMT will involve:
- Completing a medicines history on patients ensuring the inpatient record is a true reflection of what the patient was taking prior to admission
- Assessing Patient's Own Drugs (PODs) and checking their suitability for use
- Ordering medication for patients via the dispensary to ensure patients doses aren't missed
- Counselling patients and/or carers on medication including the supply of appropriate leaflets
- Supporting the timely discharge of patients
