Main duties of the job
The Senior Care Assistant - Nights role at Avery Healthcare, located in Beltinge, is a permanent position with a salary of £16.00 per hour. In this role, you will support and work with the Care team to provide high standards of personal care and ensure a safe and caring environment. Responsibilities include monitoring the wellbeing of residents, being involved in care planning, supporting residents with medication, and acting as a key point of contact for residents and their families. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to work on an 18 bedded Surgical ward, primarily taking care of patients who undergo Emergency and Elective Vascular surgery with nursing ratio of 1-6 on the day shift and 1-9 on the night shift.
The Vascular Service nationally is ever improving and evolving and there is current plans to have a centralised service for all East Lancashire patients at Preston Hospital in the future . The successful applicant would start their new role as Staff nurse at Royal Blackburn Hospital however when the Vascular Service moves in the futures you will be expected to transfer to Preston Hospital with all the other staff and services .( no confirmed dates as yet as still at planning stage ).
Main duties of the job
General duties will include pre and post- operative care for general surgical patients, administration of medication, including controlled drugs, by various routes, recording of physiological observations, wound care, management of complex patients with multiple issues, escalating care when needed, management of pain management systems . Documentation is also an essential part of the role, with accurate, legible recording of nursing interventions and completion of electronic nursing risk assessments. We aim to involve our patients in their care to improve nursing outcomes and ensure the patient's journey through their time with us is a satisfactory one. Delivering safe, personal and effective care to our patients must be at the centre of all we do.
We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic nurses to really drive the ward vision. Experience within this area is desirable but not essential. You must have excellent communication skills, be punctual, flexible and hard working with a desire to deliver a high standard of nursing care in keeping with the Trust's vision in delivering safe, personal and effective care at all times. The ideal candidate will be friendly, empathetic and patient with a keen desire to ensure that the care delivered is of the best quality standard. This is a rotational post, which includes night and weekend working.
