Band 5 to 6 Development Post
Children's Occupational Therapy
Are you interested in a career in Children's OT? But have no experience? Then this could be the role for you!
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Band 5 or Band 6 Occupational Therapist who wishes to develop specialist skills in community Paediatrics within a supportive team. We are looking for a creative, friendly, and enthusiastic OT to join our established Children's Team. We are located near Enfield Town, with easy commuter links from central London/Hertfordshire.
No experience of children's OT is necessary, but you will need to have worked in the United Kingdom as a Band 5 Occupational Therapist. We will provide on the job training in paediatrics so you can complete your Band 6 Clinical Competencies between 12-18 months in the team. If successful, you will transition internally to a Band 6 role.
We are a dynamic, innovative, and friendly team who report high levels of job satisfaction. We offer a professionally led service, monthly in-service team training, effective supervision, and External Training opportunities through the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Main duties
Your job will be to provide specialised assessment and intervention to children (0-18years) with varying needs in community settings, special schools, clinic, and CDC. You will work alongside the MDT on integrated pathways, including the joint DCD diagnostic clinic.
Enfield OT is committed to evidence-based practice; you will have the opportunity to gain skills in CO-OP, M-CIMT and Parent Coaching, as well as running groups and parents and school staff training sessions. We are an innovative team and one of the first children's services to develop leisure groups with local community providers.
This role includes participating in service development and in-service training provision.
To provide a high standard Occupational Therapy service to children aged 0-18years referred to Enfield's Children's Occupational Therapy Department.
To contribute to planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the Children's Occupational Therapy Service. To contribute to service improvements and Quality initiatives within the team.
To be responsible for a defined caseload of children both within the community and special school, working autonomously with access to supervision. Advice and support from colleagues is available as required.
To undertake Band 6 Competencies framework between 12-18 months of employment. If Competencies successfully completed to progress internally to a Band 6 within the team.
About us
The North Middlesex University Hospital, Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust is a medium-sized acute and community trust with over 525 beds and over 600 community staff, serving more than 600,000 people living across Enfield and Haringey and the surrounding areas, including Barnet and Waltham Forest.
In the year ending 31 March 2022, the Trust reported a turnover of £419.7m and employed almost 4,000 staff. Following the transfer of Enfield Community Services on 1st April 2023, this has increased as we have welcomed over 600 new staff including District Nurses, Community Matrons, Community Physiotherapists, Psychologists and many more across a wide range of adult and children's community services in Enfield.
In January 2025 we joined the Royal Free group: it is an exciting time to join North Mid as we continue our journey to become an integrated care organisation to deliver high quality, seamless care in our local communities, with a focus on tackling health inequalities.
North Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system - consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. As with other ICSs, we are working increasingly closely with partners and indeed many of our financial and performance objectives are measured at this system level. Whilst all organisations remain as standalone statutory bodies, we have an ICS infrastructure for making shared decisions and agreeing shared approaches.

The role involves delivering specialist psychological assessment and intervention, and offering advice and consultation to MDT and ward colleagues, as well as liaising with other services involved in patient care.
The post-holder will provide consultation, supervision, training and clinical case discussions to the MDT, particularly the clinical nurse specialists. They will work autonomously within professional guidelines and Trust policies, taking delegated responsibility for the governance of psychological practice within their area. This includes contributing to service development, quality improvement and project work supported by data collection for regional reporting.
The role also requires the use of research and audit skills to support policy and service development within the sickle cell and thalassaemia teams.
The post-holder will interview, recruit (where appropriate) and supervise Band 7 psychological therapy staff, trainees and assistant/undergraduate psychologists. They will also offer supervision to other professional groups within the MDT and contribute to Trust-wide and regional meetings, as agreed with the site lead and Psychological Professionals Lead.
Main duties of the job
Working alongside the red cell lead psychologist, the post-holder will support the delivery of a high-quality specialist clinical psychology service for patients across the red cell pathway at North Middlesex University Hospital.
Key responsibilities include providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy, and offering advice, guidance and consultation on psychological care to non-psychology colleagues. Appropriate support will also be given to partners, carers and families involved in the patient's care.
The post-holder will work within professional guidelines and Trust procedures, exercising autonomous clinical responsibility where required. They will apply evidence-based psychological knowledge and research skills to support audit, research and agreed service development activities.
The role includes supporting staff caring for patients with red cell disorders across all clinical areas, including the haematology day unit, hyperacute unit, inpatient wards, emergency department, community hub at the George Marsh Centre, St Ann's Hospital and multidisciplinary clinics, as well as running specialist clinical health psychology clinics.
Routine daily use of personal computers and NMUH clinical IT systems is required.
About us
North Middlesex University Hospital provides care for around 500 patients with red cell disorders primarily sickle cell and thalassaemia. The multidisciplinary red cell service operates as a Specialist Haemoglobinopathy Team (SHT) within the East of England Network, liaising with the UCLH Haemoglobinopathy Co-ordinating Centre (HCC).
NMUH is located on the border between Haringey and Enfield at the most deprived areas of both boroughs, having very high levels of social and economic deprivation with associated high levels of physical and mental health problems.

Business Intelligence Developer
University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279) View all jobs
Posted 1 month(s) ago
Reference: 279-8193504-AUG26
Job summary
We are recruiting a Business Intelligence Developer to join our Business Intelligence Team on a fixed-term basis (5 years) to support the Trust's Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme, with phase 1 going live in May 2027.
As EPR is implemented, some of the Trust's existing reporting will remain unchanged, some will draw on a mix of existing sources and the new EPR data repository (hosted on Google Cloud Platform), and some will be built solely from EPR data. This role will lead on reviewing our existing reporting suite from a business and reporting-design perspective, working directly with report area subject matter experts in clinical and operational teams to confirm business rules and agree reporting requirements. You'll help decide what should be retained, updated, consolidated or decommissioned as part of the transition, and build dashboards and reporting solutions from the Trust's data warehouse and the EPR data repository that are consistent, well-defined and easy to maintain.
We're looking for someone with strong SQL and Power BI skills, good business analysis skills to engage stakeholders and translate their needs into clear reporting specifications, and ideally NHS or large complex organisation experience.
Main duties of the job
Carry out a systematic review of existing reports and dashboards, working with report area subject matter experts in clinical and operational teams to determine what should be retained, updated to incorporate EPR data, consolidated, or decommissioned as part of the transition to EPR.
Liaise directly with clinical and operational stakeholders to confirm business rules and agree reporting requirements, ensuring reporting solutions meet internal and external reporting needs.
Develop, design and deliver dashboards and reporting solutions from the Trust's data warehouse and the EPR data repository, evolving the reporting estate into one that is consistent in its measures and definitions and straightforward to maintain.
Build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards, applying best practice in data modelling, DAX and visual design to deliver intuitive, self-service reporting.
Document business rules and report specifications agreed with SMEs, ensuring sign-off is captured and traceable, and maintain a data dictionary/metadata catalogue to reduce duplicate reporting definitions.
Support the development of the wider BI team's knowledge and technical skills through documentation and knowledge-sharing.
Present reporting solutions and analytical outputs to a range of stakeholders across clinical, operational and corporate functions, clearly articulating data, methodology and insights.
About us
At UHSussex, diversity is our strength, and we want you to feel included to help us always deliver Excellent Care Everywhere, as shown in our Outstanding for Caring CQC rating. Your uniqueness and experiences will be part of our creative and innovative community where everyone is encouraged to succeed. We have a range of staff networks to help break down barriers, and can offer a buddy to help new members settle in. We're proud to be a Disability Confident Employer (Level 3) and a Veteran Aware Trust.

To work with colleagues in the wider BI team to inform developments of products to deliver the BI improvement plan, reduce manual or disjointed processes, such that service is value-added and not just provision of information.

Experience developing business applications using Microsoft PowerApps to support operational processes and data capture is desirable.
Demonstrable experience in Excel for data analysis, reporting and the preparation of submission-ready datasets.
Experience of working with multiple stakeholders at all levels, translating complex data and technical concepts into accessible, actionable intelligence.
Proven ability to mentor and support colleagues within a technical BI environment.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
Ensuring each completed piece of review, consolidation or development work is accompanied by clear technical documentation for reports, datasets, ETL/data pipelines and database objects including data lineage, source-to-target mappings, transformation logic and refresh schedules so that reporting solutions are fully documented, auditable and maintainable and handed over to the BAU BI team on completion.
Maintain a data dictionary / metadata catalogue defining report measures, calculations and business rules consistently across the reporting suite, reducing the duplicate-definition problem the EPR review is meant to fix.
Document business rules and report specifications agreed with report area SMEs, ensuring sign-off is captured and traceable. Support the development of the wider BI team's knowledge and technical skills through documentation, knowledge-sharing and on-the-job coaching as pieces of work are completed and transitioned into business-as-usual.

This role will lead on the technical review of our existing reporting suite -- including SQL databases, ETL processes, Power BI reports and Microsoft Fabric pipelines -- ensuring queries and data infrastructure are optimised for performance, data quality and maintainability as we transition. You'll work closely with the key stakeholders and data management team to review, consolidate, update or decommission reports and underlying code, removing duplication and ensuring consistency across the reporting estate.
We're looking for someone with expert-level SQL skills, strong experience across the Microsoft BI stack (Power BI, SSRS, SSIS, Microsoft Fabric), and a good understanding of ETL and data warehouse design, ideally within an NHS or large complex organisation.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job:
Design, create and maintain SQL database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, functions), ensuring optimal database design, data integrity and performance.
Write and optimise complex SQL queries to support reporting, analysis and data extraction across the Trust.
Develop and maintain ETL processes to load data from multiple sources, including preparing datasets for national and regional submissions.
Build and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models, and develop reporting solutions within Microsoft Fabric, including Fabric pipelines for data ingestion, transformation and orchestration.
Carry out a systematic technical review of existing reports and underlying code/logic to determine what should be retained, updated to incorporate EPR data, consolidated, or decommissioned as part of the transition to EPR.
Review existing SSRS reports and subscriptions for migration to Power BI.
Ensure each piece of work is accompanied by clear technical documentation (data lineage, source-to-target mappings, transformation logic, refresh schedules) and handed over to the BAU BI team on completion.
Work collaboratively with the data management team and wider BI colleagues to ensure the reporting estate is consistent, efficient and easy to maintain and update.

Job summary
When a service user experiences an acute mental health crisis, receiving fast, compassionate care in their own home environment can transform their recovery. As a Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) within our East Kent Home Treatment & Rapid Response Teams, you'll play a crucial role delivering recovery-focussed nursing care to service users, families, and carers when they need it most.
This dynamic dual role brings together hands-on crisis nursing, hospital gatekeeping, shift leadership, and student mentorship:
- Home Treatment Function: Deliver evidence-based, nurse-led care and psychosocial interventions directly in service users' homes, providing a safe and effective alternative to inpatient hospital admission.
- Rapid Response Function: Screen new referrals, conduct urgent 24/7 assessments via the Urgent Mental Health Helpline, and carry out gatekeeping assessments in general hospital settings.
- Clinical Leadership & Mentorship: Lead shifts, allocate work across the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), uphold clinical documentation standards, and act as a Practice Educator for the next generation of mental health nurses.
If you are a passionate Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) looking for a supportive environment where your clinical judgement and leadership are genuinely valued, we'd love to hear from you.
Sarah's Story: A Career in Community Mental Health Nursing
Main duties of the job
- Assessment & Crisis Screening: Screen newly referred service users experiencing acute mental health crises, carrying out holistic nursing assessments and delivering short-term interventions until the crisis is resolved.
- Targeted Psychosocial Interventions: Provide evidence-based, short-term psychosocial and nursing interventions tailored for individuals presenting with significant distress.
- Shift Co-ordination & MDT Leadership: Act as shift co-ordinator--leading the floor, prioritising clinical workloads, delegating effectively across the MDT, and managing fast-changing priorities.
- Hospital Gatekeeping & Liaison: Perform gatekeeping assessments within general hospital mental health assessment areas to ensure service users access the right care pathway promptly.
- Quality & Clinical Documentation: Keep care plans, risk assessments, and clinical documentation updated and compliant with Trust policies, Care Programme Approach (CPA) guidelines, and Quality Improvement standards.
- Practice Education & Mentorship: Serve as a Practice Educator/mentor--supervising nursing students on placement, completing formal written assessments, maintaining update training, and facilitating smooth team inductions.
- Training & Service Development: Contribute to the design and delivery of specialist nursing and in-service training packages to foster team development and continuous learning
