Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced HCPC registered Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly Community Speech and Language Therapy Team covering the Sefton area on a part-time, 12-month fixed term basis.
Our Speech & Language Therapists work with adults who have communication and/or swallowing difficulties with the team being based at Zetland Street. You will work with patients in clinic settings and in their own homes, including nursing and residential homes, providing assessment, treatment and ongoing management for people with a wide range of Speech and Language Therapy needs. The role offers the chance to build strong multidisciplinary relationships across neighbourhood services and make a visible difference to the health and wellbeing of the local population.
You will assess, diagnose, plan and deliver treatment for patients with a range of complex needs, including people living with long-term conditions. We are therefore looking for someone with strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills and a compassionate, proactive approach to care. In return, you will join a service that values professional development, collaborative working and continuous improvement. We value CPD and carry out robust clinical supervision and appraisals to encourage therapists' specialist interests and innovation.
Main duties of the job
To provide evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to service users who have communication and/or eating and drinking difficulties. These occur as a consequence of physical and mental health conditions such as: Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson's Disease, Stroke, Dementia and Mental Illness.
The caseload may cover the whole spectrum of communication disorders, e.g. dysfluency, high level language / social use of language and voice as applicable to the service.
The role will be integrated within the therapy team and will work with the team to develop person-centred care plans.
Supervision will be provided by a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 X band 5 staff nurse to come and join the teams on Pine Ward. Pine Ward is a 20 bedded mixed acute ward.
The range of skills you can learn and develop while working on Pineward is wide and varied, working in this environment can encourage you to become a dynamic, creative and strong leader as well provide you with the ability to think on your feet, problem solve and manage a challenging setting.
Future aims for Pine ward include therapeutic and psychological input for clients, this will be driven and provided by the staffing team so staff coming into this role will eventually be provided with additional training .
You will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills, completing Safety plan training , physical health is very important to us so we can further your skills by offering venepuncture and ECG training.
There are also multiple opportunities to engage in further training such as STRIVE, THRIVE and post graduate certification in psychological interventions.

Newton Ward is a 12 bedded Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit (PICU) .This is a specialist service that ward supports patients when they are at their most acutely unwell.

As a Band 5 clinician within the team you will be required to take part in delivering a quality Occupational Therapy Service working closely with other members of the Multidisciplinary Team including Physiotherapy, Technical Instructors, Nurses, Medics and the Hospital Complex case discharge Team.
Main duties of the job
To provide a professional Occupational Therapy service to patients on own caseload, under the supervision of senior colleagues.
Rotations include: Surgery, Acute Medicine, Elderly Care, Stroke, Hand therapy, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Urgent Care and Frailty and Respiratory.
To actively contribute to the discharge planning process by selecting and implementing appropriate assessments and interventions to address the needs of patients including those with an acute illness, following injury or surgery and those with chronic disease, palliative illness or undergoing a period of acute re enablement.
Work closely with physiotherapy colleges and the wider MDT
Support the team in the day to day running of the therapy service

Job summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic dietitian to join our growing Liver Medicine Service on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This post is based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
You will be working alongside our specialist dietetic team, playing a pivotal role in delivering and developing the dietetic service for patients with chronic liver disease. You will work across the inpatient and outpatient setting, supporting patients with a wide range of liver condition. There may also be opportunity to support patients undergoing assessment for or recovering from liver transplantation.
The role involves providing specialist nutritional assessment and intervention to manage malnutrition and sarcopenia, improve clinical outcomes and quality of life. You will work closely with hepatologists, specialist nurses and other allied health professionals, to deliver patient-centred care.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and proactive dietitian to gain specialist experience in hepatology. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development, evaluation and sustainability of the service through quality improvement initiatives, audit and research activities.
Experience in the nutritional management of patients with liver disease would be advantageous; however, applications are welcomed from dietitians with a strong interest in hepatology who are keen to develop specialist knowledge and skills in this area.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Liver Medicine multidisciplinary team, you will
-Manage a specialist caseload of patients with chronic liver disease in inpatient and outpatient settings.
-Assess and manage malnutrition, sarcopenia and nutrition-related complications of liver disease, developing individualised treatment plans to optimise clinical outcomes and quality of life.
-Work closely with the specialist dietetic team to support the ongoing development of the Liver Medicine dietetic service.
-Contribute to audit, quality improvement, research and service evaluation projects to demonstrate the impact and effectiveness of specialist dietetic interventions.
-Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, including hepatologists, specialist nurses and other allied health professionals, to deliver coordinated, patient-centred care.
-Contribute to the development of patient information resources, clinical guidelines, care pathways and evidence-based practice within the Liver Medicine and Liver Transplant services.

The ward consists in 8 single rooms, providing specialist facilities for the care of oncologic patients. Main duties of the job
As a Mental Health Practitioner you will be providing specialist mental healthcare to offenders and working as part of the Mental Health In-Reach Team, plus wider mental health services. You will be required to work in a psychologically minded way with offenders in achieving their agreed goals and quality health outcomes.
Our Mental Health Team provide specialist interventions at primary and secondary care level including; referral management, screening assessment, triage, evidence-based interventions, care planning and risk assessing, plus one-to-one and group-work facilitation.
Our Mental Health Practitioners manage a mixed and challenging caseload and are required to perform robust assessment, screening and interventions to offenders with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. You will contribute to alternatives to inpatient admission and assisting with early discharge through the implementation of high intensity interventions and complex case management arrangements.
One of our key aims is to ensure continuity of care for an offender on ordinary location and reduce the length of stay, both in relation to prison inpatient services and external NHS/independent in-patient services. You will work closely with community mental health teams to ensure appropriate sharing of information, continuity of care and the Care Programme Approach for all offenders as necessary.

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 5 physiotherapist looking to progress to the next step to become a Band 6 physiotherapist in in-patient rehabilitation. The post holder will work at the Homeward Centre, a short-term rehabilitation unit on the Good Hope hospital site. It is essential the post holder has good clinical skills, communication and interpersonal skills. Main duties of the job
The Homeward Centre is a 25-bedded therapy and nurse led unit for patients that are medically stable for discharge but still have therapy or care needs to be discharged home. A B6 physiotherapist in The Homeward Centre will provide an invaluable opportunity to gain experience in rehabilitation in an acute setting. You will support patients to achieve their therapy goals with the aim for discharge home. The Homeward Centre accepts patients from all specialties so the patient caseload will be varied with opportunities for service development in new clinical pathways. You can expect to gain experience in functional assessments, running exercise classes, falls prevention management and complex discharge planning. You will join an experienced therapy team and will be expected to participate in the weekend rota and in-service training programme.

Main duties of the job

CHC Senior Assessor is a highly experienced practitioner who provides advanced clinical expertise and leadership across the Continuing Healthcare (CHC) pathway.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sonographer to join the expanding Ultrasound Department at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital. Applicants must hold a PGDip in Medical Ultrasound and be competent in core ultrasound services including General Medical (including paediatrics), Obstetrics and Gynaecology. An opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Phlebotomist to join our team at the Southport and Ormskirk sites for 17.5 hours per week.

Job responsibilities
- To manage own patient list.
- To work as part of a team but to also act autonomously within the clinical setting

- Complete appropriate forms as soon as possible and participate in any investigations as necessary

CLINICAL & PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safe collection of routine venous blood samples from patients as requested by doctor and\or nurses in line with Trust Policy
- Prepare blood samples for transport ensuring stability and safety
- To make informed decisions relating to patient care and safety
- To comply with identified operational procedures regarding blood sample collection
- To adhere to the Trusts Health and Safety at Work Policy
- To ensure that own phlebotomy trolley is cleaned thoroughly and restocked with consumables by completion of duty.
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with the Trusts policy on documentation in relation to recording of blood tests etc., including data entry onto computer systems as required
- Always maintain confidentiality.
- To undertake such other agreed duties as may be appropriate to the post for the efficient provision of the service.
- To maintain appropriate ordering of equipment and ensure same is fit for purpose
- To ensure Line Manager is kept informed regarding absence due to sickness, as soon as possible
- To provide Line Manager with a minimum four weeks notice for any annual leave requests
- To ensure effective communications with Line Manager
- To attend regular team meetings in order to share knowledge, ideas and acknowledge any developments\changes that impact upon the phlebotomists role
TEACHING & TRAINING RESPONSBILITIES
- To participate in continuing education and to implement evidence-based practice
- To assist the Senior Phlebotomist in the training and supervision of new staff members in accordance with the training policies.
- To act as support to other members of staff.
- To engage in additional training to meet the changing demands of phlebotomy clinics
- Attend necessary mandatory training as identified by the Trust
RESEARCH & AUDIT
- To identify and manage clinical risk and to report concerns to line manager.
- To participate in data collection for audit purposes relating to the phlebotomy service
- To ensure relevant research and audit outcomes are implemented in practice
GENERAL DUTIES
To observe the provisions of and adhere to all Trust policies and procedures:
- To actively participate in the annual performance review to identify personal development needs
- To attend Trust Statutory and Mandatory training sessions as required and any other training courses relevant to the post.
- To fully comply with the relevant sections of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
