This is an exciting opportunity to join Spinney Brook Medical Centre, a high-performing and forward-thinking practice offering a sustainable and rewarding way to work in modern general practice.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed GP to join our supportive clinical team. Applications are welcomed from both newly qualified and experienced GPs. Newly qualified GPs will be supported as they establish themselves within a friendly and approachable team.
The role offers a varied mix of general practice, supporting the health needs of our whole practice population. You will provide care for patients with acute, on-the-day problems as well as those with ongoing, complex and long-term health needs.
There will also be the opportunity to become involved in our New Models of Care work, focusing on patients with long-term conditions, frailty, complex needs, end-of-life care and those who make frequent use of secondary care services.
You will be joining a stable, well-run and collaborative practice with a strong reputation for providing high-quality care, a modern access model and a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Whether you are at the beginning of your GP career or already have experience, this is an opportunity to join a friendly team and enjoy a varied and rewarding role in general practice.
Interviews will take place during the week commencing 7 September 2026, with appointment as soon as possible.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide safe, effective and patient-centred general medical services as part of our multidisciplinary team.
The role will include managing a varied clinical workload and providing care for patients with acute, urgent and ongoing health needs. You will undertake face-to-face, telephone and other appropriate consultations, assessing, diagnosing and managing patients across the full range of general practice.
An important part of the role will be supporting same-day care. This will include seeing patients with acute problems and acting as the clinical triaging GP for Anima Total Triage during allocated sessions. You will review patient requests, assess clinical need and urgency, and ensure patients are directed to the most appropriate clinician or service.
Alongside acute care, there will be opportunities to support patients with long-term conditions and complex health needs through our New Models of Care work. This focuses on patients who are frail, living with complex or multiple conditions, approaching the end of life or making frequent use of secondary care.
You will work closely with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, healthcare assistants and other professionals to provide coordinated, proactive and patient-centred care.
We welcome applications from newly qualified and experienced GPs.
About us
Spinney Brook Medical Centre is a CQC-rated Good practice providing high-quality care to our local community. We are proud of our reputation as a supportive and friendly place to work and of the strong relationships within our team.
We are a stable, well-run practice with a collaborative approach to patient care. Our team includes GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants, pharmacists, paramedics and an experienced administrative team.
As part of the East Northants Neighbourhood, we work closely with other local practices and partners across the health and care system. Our New Models of Care work is being developed through the Neighbourhood and focuses on patients with long-term conditions, frailty, complex needs, end-of-life care and those who frequently use secondary care services.
This will include multidisciplinary team meetings involving colleagues from across the Neighbourhood, alongside specialists from hospital and community services. These MDTs will support coordinated care planning for patients with complex needs and provide an opportunity to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries.
Within the practice, Anima Total Triage supports effective management of patient demand and helps ensure patients are directed to the most appropriate clinician or service.
We offer a supportive, sustainable and collaborative working environment where clinicians can enjoy the variety of general practice while being part of a team focused on delivering high-quality patient care.
