Job summary
We are currently recruiting Physiotherapists who wish to join our rotational scheme of core and specialised rotations which occur in our three main sites (Stoke Mandeville - Aylesbury, Wycombe Hospital High Wycombe and Amersham Hospital, Amersham).
Main duties of the job
There are permanent posts available, with four month rotations in the following areas: trauma, elective orthopaedics, musculoskeletal, hyperacute stroke, stroke rehab, burns and plastics, Intensive care, medical wards and respiratory unit, surgical wards, complex neuro rehab, acute spinal cord injuries, spinal cord rehabilitation , community rehabilitation and Therapy nurse led Unit rehab. Paediatrics, hydrotherapy, amputee and cardiac rehabilitation experience is also available.
For all rotations you will have a nominated band 6/Senior to be your mentor and provide support, often there are Physiotherapy support staff that you work alongside and this provides opportunities for you to develop your skills of delegation and support. As a service we also have several rotational schemes at band 6 level offering great career progression in the future.
In service training and professional development is actively pursued in all rotations. Following a competency based induction and training part of this role also includes working at weekends and being on -call for the respiratory service.
As some of the rotations are working in the community visiting patients in their homes, it is therefore essential that you are a car driver and either own a car or plan to do so for the purposes of work.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen following internal promotion of two staff, to work at the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. We provide high quality rehabilitation for patients from across the South East region of England and half of London taking patients from major trauma centres. As part of a team of 12 qualified OTs and 3 assistants you will get a chance to practice your OT skills in a wide range of areas including both one to one and group sessions. OTs are integral to the multi-disciplinary team providing comprehensive rehabilitation to patients with spinal cord injury, whether they are children or adults, are ventilator dependent, wheelchair users or ambulant. Often patients have a complex presentation and you will get a chance to use a wide range of skills including posture and seating, powered mobility, hand therapy and splinting, upper limb restorative therapy, vocational and leisure activities as well as activities of daily living and environmental assessments. Main duties of the job
Carry a caseload of patients with spinal cord injury both paraplegic and tetraplegic. Assess, plan and carry out treatment and evaluate outcomes. Treatment sessions may take place on the ward, in OT, or in the community. Patients attend both 1:1 sessions and group treatment. Rehabilitation of spinal cord injury individuals is provided through multi-disciplinary working and OTs are an integral part of the team taking on keyworker roles for patient goal planning.

Are you a newly qualified or early career Speech and Language Therapist looking for a varied and supportive Band 5 role across both inpatient and community settings? We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our Adult Speech and Language Therapy service in Buckinghamshire. This post offers an excellent opportunity to develop a broad range of clinical skills across the inpatient stroke pathway at Wycombe Hospital and the community SLT service. The successful applicant will work three days per week with the inpatient stroke team at Wycombe Hospital, supporting adults with communication and swallowing difficulties as part of a wider multidisciplinary team. They will also work two days per week with the community SLT team, providing assessment and intervention for adults in patients' homes, care homes and outpatient settings. This is a supportive post with regular supervision from senior Speech and Language Therapists across both pathways. The National Spinal Injuries Centre, Stoke Mandeville is dedicated to the treatment of individuals with spinal cord injury. Physiotherapists are part of the enthusiastic and well-motivated inter-disciplinary team involved in all aspects of lifelong management from the acute stage through rehabilitation and post discharge.
An opportunity has arisen for a physiotherapist with an interest and experience in neurological physiotherapy seeking to develop their skills in spinal cord injury physiotherapy rehabilitation to join the team at the NSIC. They will be responsible for their own caseload of patients and provideliaison and communication with other members of the interdisciplinary team within and external to the NSIC supporting progression of patients through rehabilitation. They will be active in supporting the goals of both the physiotherapy service and the NSIC.
Weekend and on call working are requirements of this post, as required.

- To perform assessment and treatment for Spinal Cord Injury patients with complex needs, and to provide advice, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, carers and relatives and other non-professionals.

Main duties of the job
The post is locality team based in Amersham and the Chiltern South Bucks area. If you are a newly qualified therapist you would be given a mainstream school aged caseload for 4 days of your week, alongside 1 day CPD to develop competencies and shadowing for the first year with the aim to develop interests in different parts of the service. Caseload allocations are caped to allow NQTs the ability to acquire necessary competencies within the first year.
This is a jointly commissioned service that will give you the opportunity to use your innovative and dynamic SLT skills to influence the delivery of high quality, evidence based interventions for children and young people in Buckinghamshire.
We use a wide variety of evidence-based therapy approaches with children. Therapy is delivered individually, in groups or flexibly as the child and setting require.
Award winning and evidence based programmes by Speech and Language Link, are commissioned to every mainstream school setting across Buckinghamshire and supports a graduated approach to therapy delivery alongside our school advice sessions and webinars.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about Neurology and Stroke treatment and ready to put their ideas into action with the dynamic current team at Wycombe hospital to Rotate on Hyperacute and Acute Stroke units, Bucks Neuro rehab unit and Early Supported Discharge team.
There maybe a permanent post after this time.
The permanent post is 8 month Neurology rotations through the:
- Stroke team at Wycombe Hospital on Hyperacute and Acute Stroke units
- Buckinghamshire Neuro Rehabilitation and Wheelchair service at Amersham Hospital
- Early Supported Stroke team in the Buckinghamshire community
- Urology, Cardiology and Day assessment rotation at Wycombe hospital to maintain medical skills.
The Occupational Therapy Neurology team provides high quality stroke, medical assessment and acute rehabilitation with a Clinical specialist 8a Occupational Therapists, Band 7 Advanced Occupational Therapists, Band 6 Seniors, Band 5s, assistants and rehab engineers and has gained an A rated SSNAP score consistently for high quality!
You will work in our multidisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Nurses and Speech and Language Therapists, setting goals, discharge plans, group work, home visits and liaising with other professionals and carers.
This is a very friendly, supportive and dynamic team with regular integrated individual supervision, appraisal, CPD, use of outcome measures and in service training.
Main duties of the job
- To participate within complex rehabilitation and contribute to its function.
- To undertake assessments of patients with complex and diverse presentations.
- To undertake advanced, comprehensive, and where applicable, standardised assessments within the specialised clinical areas.
- To use clinical reasoning skills and knowledge of evidence based practice to determine treatment plan using a wide range of treatment skills and options.
- To analyse and interpret clinical and non-clinical information to form an accurate diagnosis in a wide range of conditions, with guidance from specialist Occupational Therapists when appropriate.

The Endoscopy services at BHT are expanding, providing a service over a 7-day period to meet capacity demands and to improve patient experience. As such we are increasing our workforce to allow for this service development.

- The post holder will assist the Endoscopist with procedures/investigations and manipulation of intricate equipment after appropriate training.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery and development of clinical pharmacy services within Acute and Emergency Care in liaison with the Pharmacy Team Lead for Integrated Medicine, promoting the safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines. They will:
- Liaise with the relevant senior pharmacy, medical and nursing staff, other allied health professionals (AHPs) and managers to promote safe, evidence-based and cost-effective use of medication.
- Liaise with external health professionals (i.e., community / primary care network pharmacists) and stakeholders across the Integrated Care System (ICS) in streamlining processes and encouraging best practice.
- Provide a clinical pharmacy service to acute wards including specialist advice and participation on ward rounds and multidisciplinary team (MDT) reviews.
- Practice as an independent prescriber within agreed therapeutic areas, in accordance with the BHT Non-Medical Prescribing policy.
- Provide pharmacy leadership to the Integrated Medicine directorate, deputising for the Pharmacy Team Lead for Integrated Medicine as necessary.
- Demonstrate strong digital literacy and effectively utilise electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) and other digital clinical systems to support safe prescribing, medicines optimisation and service improvements.

Job summary
The Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker plays a key role within the Acute Receiving Unit (ARU) and Emergency Medical Receiving Unit (EMRU), working across both clinical areas to support the assessment, monitoring, and care of patients presenting with acute medical conditions. The post holder will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients during the early stages of their hospital journey, ensuring their safety, comfort, and wellbeing in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will support the rapid assessment and management of medical patients by undertaking delegated clinical duties, including carrying out and recording patient observations, performing ECGs, obtaining blood samples, supporting diagnostic investigations, and recognising and escalating changes in a patient's condition. They will assist with the timely transfer of patients between departments and contribute to effective patient flow across both units.
They will work closely with Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals to facilitate timely assessment, treatment, and ongoing care.
The role supports the provision of high-quality acute medical services by maintaining high standards of patient safety, infection prevention and control, dignity, and respect across both the ARU and EMRU.

A full time (10 PA) substantive post as a Consultant in Spinal Cord Injuries and Neurorehabilitation is available at the National Spinal Injuries Centre (NSIC) (8 PAs), and Buckinghamshire Neurorehabilitation Unit (BNRU) (2 PAs) at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. It is expected that the successful candidate will have appropriate training in rehabilitation medicine and specific spinal cord injuries and neurorehabilitation medicine experience.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will have full clinical responsibility for the spinal cord injured patients under their care and will be supported by a skilled multidisciplinary team, as well as middle grade and junior medical staff. There are close working relationships with other medical and surgical specialties to provide additional aspects of care to this patient population.
The post holder will be expected to:
- Lead and participate in clinical audit and service improvement programmes
- Attend regular clinical meetings, including weekly radiology meetings
- Contribute to the in-service education programme
- Participate in training for junior doctors and other team members
- Be part of the medical leadership team, contributing to management meetings and helping to develop clinical policies and guidelines in conjunction with other staff
- Role-model, uphold and actively contribute to the Trust's values - Collaborate, Aspire, Respect, and Enable,ensuring these principles are embedded in everyday practice, decision-making and interactions with patients, colleagues and partners.

The NSIC is a purpose-built centre with 102 inpatient beds, providing comprehensive care for patients with spinal cord injuries, from acute management through rehabilitation and lifelong follow-up. We serve the South of England and the Midlands, admitting 130150 new traumatic and non-traumatic cases each year.
Our facilities include:
Four adult wards (93 beds) A dedicated 9-bed Young Persons Rehabilitation Ward, the only inpatient unit in the UK for children and adolescents Hydrotherapy pool, gymnasium, occupational therapy areas including an Upper Limb Studio, and patient education

We review around 4,000 outpatients annually and provide outreach and peripatetic nursing services to support patients before and after admission.
We have a proud history of innovation, dating back to Sir Ludwig Guttmann, who revolutionized spinal injury care during WWII and introduced sport as part of rehabilitation, laying the foundation for the Paralympic movement.
The post-holder will be expected to cover 2 PAs (one whole day or two 1/2 days preferably Wednesday or Thursday) at BNRU. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking team of consultant paediatricians within Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. The post holder will provide consultant leadership for children and young people with diabetes and endocrine disorders in South Buckinghamshire, contributing to the Trust's successful paediatric diabetes service and maintaining national quality standards. In addition, they will undertake general paediatric and neonatal responsibilities, participate in the consultant on-call rota, and support the delivery of high-quality acute paediatric care across both hospital sites.

Main duties of the job
Clinical Responsibilities
The successful candidate will join a team of consultants and undertake inpatient and outpatient work in Neonates and General Paediatrics including inpatients and children admitted to the observation ward. These clinical areas have day on call (attending weeks). On call activities are on a pro-rata basis. In addition to the general paediatrics this post holder will also have specialist clinics in diabetes to ensure we continue to meet the standards to achieve the best practice tariff.

We are in the unusual position of having a 23.75 hour Advanced Band 7 Wheelchair therapist vacant at Buckinghamshire Wheelchair service!
You will work closely with and give advice to other health care professionals, social services and education personnel to ensure mobility and seating is provided effectively to adults and children who have severe disabilities and complex health, social, mobility and postural needs.
