Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Kolvin Service Children and Young People's working across two secure care centres. We are seeking to recruit a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Occupational Therapist to join the service. The successful candidate will work in multi-disciplinary team (MDT) providing specialist assessments, carrying out clinical sessions, interventions and evaluating outcomes.
The OT role will involve making recommendations through OT clinical working involves demonstrating evidence-based practice through modelling and mentoring clinical practice with staff, then regularly reviewing and evaluating with service user and staff groups.
Examples of training packages include engaging in service related research projects; with the overarching motivation of and using best evidence based to guide clinical practice, such as using specialist model and assessments. The role will involve and require a robust person who can professionally demonstrate effective leadership skills, with advocating the occupational performance needs for service users and actively contribute to service development.
The post holder will require advanced clinical knowledge and skills in working with this patient group and would be expected to possess a high level of skill and experience in understanding the impact of mental illness, learning disability, autism spectrum and neurodevelopmental conditions upon occupational functioning.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve using evidence based assessments alongside clinical observations using specific occupational therapy assessment or using other related assessments to supporting occupational formulation, and dependent upon the young people needs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with multiagency, education providers and families supporting the implementation of treatment plans which can involve direct and indirect clinical input with young people.
The role will require updating the teams of occupational therapy input with clear outcome measures and an overview of occupational evaluations of care and treatment whilst in services.
The post holder will be required to possess (or develop through commitment to training) advanced knowledge and skills in theories and approaches utilised in meeting the needs of this patient group including; trauma informed working, sensory processing strategies, and relevant standardised assessments. As well as relevant occupational therapy approaches and models of practice.

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Memory Protection Service based at Monkwearmouth Hospital in Sunderland on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave.
The Memory Protection Service is a dementia service for those in South of Tyne and Wear referred for memory assessment. The Service covers 3 localities; Sunderland, South Tyneside and Gateshead and offers comprehensive assessment and diagnosis.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be working into the homes of older adults to provide a comprehensive assessment to aid diagnosis and manage risk.
The successful therapist will be required to work as an autonomous practitioner although you will closely work with members of the Occupational Therapy team and multi-disciplinary colleagues. We require a highly motivated Occupational Therapist with the ability to work independently and with a commitment to their own personal and professional development. Regular supervision and support will be provided.

Sunderland West Community Treatment Team have an opportunity for a band 6 clinician to join the service. Job summary
Sunderland South Community Treatment Team have an opportunity for a band 6 clinician to join the service. We are looking to recruit a caring and compassionate Community Practitioner with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work as part of our multi-disciplinary team offering assessment and treatment to clients experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. Your responsibilities will include the assessment and treatment of clients experiencing mental health difficulties, both psychosis and non psychosis, working closely with families and other professionals.
The role requires an element of autonomous working and leadership skills and you must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the delivery of high quality, safe and effective treatment.
It is essential that you have a professional qualification in the field of health and/or social care and are registered with the relevant professional body.We provide excellent training opportunities to allow you to deliver NICE guidance treatment. You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team including Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychology/Psychological Therapists, Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Support Assistants and Peer Supporters. You will receive regular supervision both on an individual basis and in a group setting and will work closely with other CNTW services and local agencies.

Main duties of the job
Providing MDT assessment of clients' needs and identifying collaborative treatment plans.
Deliver various evidence based psychological therapies both individually and in a group setting.
Support the wider team in ensuring the provision of excellent standards of care.
Have a good understanding of pharmacological approaches to treatment.
To work together with clients and their families through the journey of care. You will be expected to develop your skills and the team has access to excellent training opportunities.
To maintain effective working relationships with other teams in CNTW and external agencies.

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, fixed term post as a band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the Occupational Therapy Team within Children and Young People Services, working into a general adolescence unit (acute ward) in Middlesborough.
This service supports young people aged 13-18 years mixed sex ward, young people who are experiencing complex mental health difficulties, trauma and/or neurodevelopmental conditions.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist who has clinical experience and the ability to work autonomously. Main duties of the job
The job role of the specialist occupational therapist is to screen all young people who are admitted or transferred into the acute ward. The occupational therapist is integral to the young persons care, using assessment, treatment plans to support he young person to discover and recover. The successful candidate will proactively advocate the needs of young people to other professionals, meeting families with consideration of adaptation and working holistically with the focus of occupational performance in all aspects of the young person's care and treatment.
The successful candidate will facilitate therapeutic groups as well as 1:1 individual sessions in order to support clinical observations to inform formal assessments. The OT will gather information to support occupational formulation with devising interventions plans in collaboration with young person.
The successful candidate will use best-evidence based assessments, write reports and clear documentations of clinical contact with young people. The OT regularly provides feedback through attending clinical meetings with advocating the occupational needs for young people.
The successful candidate will have a supervisor role which includes supervision of AHP support staff, providing clear guidance on therapy directed interventions and supporting staff with CPD. The OT role has opportunity for development of staff through training.

Job summary
The post is to work as a Research Assistant on two trials being run in the Hub for Advancing Research in Psychosis. You will work half time on the EASE Trial, an NIHR funded randomised controlled trial (RCT) that aims to examine the value of EMDR for people with early psychosis, and a history of distressing life experiences. You will also work half time on the Mouth Matters study which is a research trial examining the impact of a link worker in helping people with psychosis to access dental care.
The post is full time for 20 months on a fixed term basis.
The post holder will be responsible for recruiting eligible participants to the trials, conducting assessments using validated clinical measures to confirm the eligibility of participants, and to conduct baseline and follow up assessments. Administrative requirements will include timely and accurate documentation, updating clinical records, and managing record-keeping databases. This post will involve travelling to, and working across, multiple locations including NHS settings and participants' homes. Hence, the post holder must be comfortable lone working, within a supported and structured risk management protocol. Applicants should be able to work warmly and sensitively with people experiencing distress, and be able to manage their own wellbeing using available supervision and support structures.
Main duties of the job
Your job purpose will be to promote the study and work with the psychosis service to identify potential participants. You will take informed consent from participants and conduct the trials assessments at the appropriate time points. You will carefully follow the research protocol and avoid being unblinded to which condition participants have been randomised too. You will input data and manage your own diary and workload.
You will have a good first degree in Psychology (at least a 2:1). You will have some experienceofworking in a mental health setting as an Assistant Psychologist or Research Assistant (or equivalent experience), and aninterestin psychosis, trauma, and/or other serious mental health difficulties. Knowledgeofaudit, research design and data management is essential. Experienceofusing a structured psychiatric interview would be advantageous. Experience of recruiting research participants from diverse communities that are often under-represented in research would also be beneficial for the role. We particularly encourage applicants interested in developing their own skills and knowledge, and contributing to the wider research team.

We are looking to recruit a Band 7 Clinical Psychologist to our secure inpatient provision. Psychology provision is a well-established and valued component of the service model, and the post holder would be required to work effectively within and across multidisciplinary teams.
The post involves providing expertise in undertaking specialist psychological assessment, including risk assessments, collaborative formulation and interventionswith service users. The role will include individual and group based therapeutic work. This is a very busy service and the post-holder is part of an admin team which supports the multi-disciplinary clinical team. Duties will include processing referrals into the service, maintaining an electronic patient record system, maintaining spreadsheets, diary management, typing clinical letters and reports and minuting meetings as well as other general office duties. Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide Consultant clinical leadership to the service and will assume consultant psychiatrist responsibility for their proportion of patients being looked after by the team. This includes assuming Responsible Clinician status for patients under their care, including patients subject to Community Treatment Orders, taking a lead on compliance with the Mental Health Act and CQC requirements.

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Memory Protection Service based at Monkwearmouth Hospital in Sunderland on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave.
The Memory Protection Service is a dementia service for those in South of Tyne and Wear referred for memory assessment. The Service covers 3 localities; Sunderland, South Tyneside and Gateshead and offers comprehensive assessment and diagnosis.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be working into the homes of older adults to provide a comprehensive assessment to aid diagnosis and manage risk.
The successful therapist will be required to work as an autonomous practitioner although you will closely work with members of the Occupational Therapy team and multi-disciplinary colleagues. We require a highly motivated Occupational Therapist with the ability to work independently and with a commitment to their own personal and professional development. Regular supervision and support will be provided.
The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a good working knowledge of theories, models and approaches relevant to this clinical setting, as well as a good understanding of a range of clinical conditions related to Older People's mental health, cognitive impairment and dementia.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Specialist Occupational Therapist within the Adult Community Treatment team in Gateshead. This is an excellent opportunity to practice the fundamental skills of Occupational Therapy in a supportive and supervised environment. The post holder will formulate, implement and review plans for the treatment and management of service users with a full range of clinical presenting problems. Additionally, they will thoroughly assess risk; formulate safe and effective risk management plans and document and communicate these clearly and concisely. Specialist Occupational Therapy interventions will be applied utilising specialist assessment and evaluation tools drawn from the Model of Human Occupation. Awareness of current policies and practice in this area is essential.

We currently have vacancies for a full time 37.5 hrs per week Band 3 Administration Officer, a part-time 30 hrs per week Administration Officer and a part time 22.5 hrs per week. 1 Based in Lillyhall, Workington & 2 at the Carleton Clinic, Carlisle.
This is a busy service and the successful post holder will be a member of the administration team supporting multi-disciplinary clinical teams to provide a comprehensive, high quality administrative service. A good knowledge of Microsoft packages and excellent typing skills are essential for this role.

Job summary
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for a full-time Administration Officer to work within Older People's Services based at St Nicholas Hospital, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne.
This is a very busy service and the post-holder is part of an admin team which supports the multi-disciplinary clinical team. Duties will include processing referrals into the service, maintaining an electronic patient record system, maintaining spreadsheets, diary management, typing clinical letters and reports and minuting meetings as well as other general office duties. A proven high level of organisational and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with extensive experience of Microsoft packages are required.
The post holder must facilitate excellent customer service and be confident in dealing with service users face to face as well as on the telephone and carry out duties as assigned to them by the Administration Team Lead / Administration Manager / Team Manager to ensure a comprehensive, high quality administrative service to the team at all times. Candidates must be adaptable, work well as a team and provide a positive patient experience which are essential skills for the role of Administration Officer.
This is a full-time post 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
Candidates will be responsible for administrative functions and must have demonstrable recent 12 month experienceincluding, but not limited, to the following: (see job description for further information):
