Main duties of the job
As Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer, you will provide collective leadership for a complex and high-profile organisation. You will lead the operational delivery of services across the Trust, ensuring excellence in quality, safety, performance and financial sustainability, while helping to drive large-scale transformation and innovation. Working closely with the Chief Executive, Chair, Board colleagues and partners across Greater Manchester, you will be a visible and influential leader, capable of operating confidently at organisational, system and national level.
We are seeking an accomplished, values-driven executive leader who combines strategic vision with operational credibility. You will bring a strong clinical background as a registered mental health professional, together with board-level leadership experience and a proven track record of delivering sustained improvement within complex NHS organisations.
You will understand the realities of delivering high-quality care, supporting clinical teams and leading services through change, while maintaining a relentless focus on patient safety, experience and outcomes.

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Duty Worker to join a vibrant integrated health and social care Community Mental Health Team.
In North Trafford CMHT the duty desk is permanently managed by two duty practitioners, this creates a streamlined and effective way of working. Referrals are dealt with safely and assessments are completed in a timely manner.
This post would provide the suitable candidate the opportunity to work within a highly skilled clinical team in the community, applying clinical assessment skills to support the care and treatment needs of vulnerable adults with mental health needs.
The age range of service users is from 16-70 yrs across the whole of the Trafford borough for those experiencing mental health difficulties.
Trafford has a varied socio economic group and is a multicultural area.
The successful candidate will screen and triage referrals to the team, conducting holistic and evidenced based Bio Psycho social assessments and contributing towards the MDT discussions and care planning.
Risk assessment and risk management is an essential aspect of this role and in addition to the expectation to participate in providing quality first line psychosocial assessments, the role also requires working proactively in forging professional working relationships with multi-agencies.
Main duties of the job
Carrying out initial assessments and responding to all new referrals received by the team. If referrals are not suitable to facilitate passing referral onto appropriate service.
Completing robust and holistic risk assessments which accurately indicate the needs of vulnerable adults .
Liaising with multiple agencies, third parties and patients, making onwards referrals
Advocating on behalf of vulnerable adults to achieve positive outcome sin their treatment and acre
Writing reports in a timely manner.
Contributing towards weekly MDT discussion.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join the Adults of Working Age (AOWA) Inpatient Occupational Therapy Service within Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH). This post is currently based at Meadowbrook Unit, Salford, providing Occupational Therapy input to Eagleton Ward, a male acute inpatient mental health ward.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health difficulties to engage in meaningful occupation, maximise independence and achieve their recovery goals. You will provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment, formulation and intervention for individuals with complex mental and physical health needs, using evidence-based and recovery-focused approaches to support occupational participation, wellbeing and discharge planning.
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will manage a varied caseload, contribute to the therapeutic environment of the ward, provide supervision and support to staff, and play an active role in service development and quality improvement initiatives.
This role offers the opportunity to develop specialist skills in acute inpatient mental health while working within a supportive Occupational Therapy network committed to high-quality, person-centred care.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality Occupational Therapy provision within an acute inpatient mental health setting. Key responsibilities include:

Job summary
To provide a comprehensive administrative service to identified medical teams within the North Manchester Division. The post holder will act as a PA for a number of consultants and line manage the bases medical support secretaries, where applicable to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner.

Job summary
The Salford Mental Health Liaison Team (SMHLT) provide a 24-hour, 7 day a week service to Salford Royal Hospital (SRH), part of the Northern Care Alliance (NCA). The post holder will be joining a multidisciplinary psychiatric liaison service designed to be integrated into the acute hospital but to maintain strong links to mental health services. The Salford Mental Health Liaison Team is one of the most established Liaison Teams in Greater Manchester, with strong links across the city-wide liaison network. The team will provide rapid assessments, treatments and interventions and aid an early safe discharge of patients back into the most appropriate setting. The current psychiatric liaison services receive about 500-600 referrals a month
Main duties of the job
o Ensure that junior medical staff working with the post holder operate within the parameters of the New Deal and are Working Time Directive compliant.
o Undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients.
o Record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively, and submit this promptly to the Information Department.
o Participate in service and business planning activity for the locality and, as appropriate, for the whole mental health service.
o Participate in annual appraisal for consultants.
o Attend and participate in the academic programme of the Trust, including lectures and seminars as part of the internal CPD programme.
o Maintain good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists for CPD.o Attend local peer supervision meetings and join CPD peer group (support available to identify)
o Maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council, Mental Health Act Section 12(2) approval process, and to abide by professional codes of conduct.
o Participate annually in a job plan review with the clinical manager, which will include consultation with a relevant manager in order to ensure that the post is developed to take into account changes in service configuration and delivery associated with modernisation.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 4.8wte Band 8a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists or Clinical Psychologists to join the Greater Manchester Specialist Perinatal Service.This role focuses on delivering and developing a high-quality parent-infant mental health service (PIMHS) for families from conception to 15 months and is an opportunity to contribute to the continued development and transformation of the specialist PIMH pathway. You will join a warm, skilled, collaborative MDT committed to high quality trauma informed care which promotes the wellbeing of infants, parents and the wider family system.

Main duties of the job

The post is to work as a Research Assistant on the EASE Trial, an NIHR randomised controlled trial (RCT) that aims to examine the value of EMDR for people with early psychosis, and a history of distressing life experiences.
As the post will involve extensive travel within the Greater Manchester area, the ability to travel independently of the public transport system is important. The post is based at Central Park, Northampton Road, Manchester, M40 5BP. The post is funded full-time for 12 months from January 2027, with the possibility of extension. The post-holder will receive line management support from Professor Filippo Varese and the EASE trial managers in Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH). This includes regular line management supervision, clear objective setting for 3, 6 and 12 months and annual appraisals thereafter (depending on continued funding for the post).

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for recruiting eligible participants to the trial, conducting assessments using validated clinical measures to confirm the eligibility of participants, and to conduct baseline and follow up assessments. Administrative requirements will include timely and accurate documentation, updating clinical records, and managing record-keeping databases. This post will involve travelling to, and working across, multiple locations including NHS settings and participants' homes. Hence, the post holder must be comfortable lone working, within a supported and structured risk management protocol. Applicants should be able to work warmly and sensitively with people experiencing distress, and be able to manage their own wellbeing using available supervision and support structures.

North View are looking for experienced Nurses who would like progress their career and specialise within Acute inpatient services as a Deputy ward manager. Our new state-of-the-art adult mental health inpatient hospital, North View, became fully operational on Monday 18 November 2024.
The bespoke, purpose-built development replaces Park House on the (NMGH) site and marks the beginning of a new chapter for the future of inpatient mental health care for people in Manchester.
The new hospital significantly improves patient privacy and dignity, providing:
- 150 single en-suite bedrooms which are provided over nine single sex wards, including a purpose-built Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), six adult acute wards for female and male adults, one female older adults ward, one male rehabilitation ward and a treatment suite that supports research and innovation studies.
- An assessment suite (specifically for people needing a place of safety and assessment under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act).
- A variety of internal activity areas and multiple outside garden spaces, specifically designed to enhance the environment and aid recovery.
You must be a committed and competent RNMH looking for a new challenge and development opportunities making a real difference with adults and carers in an acute setting . You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure on a busy, inpatient ward.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will take charge of the shifts on a rotational basis, act as a primary nurse to service users and their carers, as well as being responsible for the establishment and maintenance of effective communication with all relevant personnel who contribute to the care of the service user both internal and external to the Trust.
The post holder will, in collaboration with the ward manager, ensure continuous clinical and professional development for ward staff through on the job coaching, mentoring, audit, regular supervision, and ward based training of less experienced staff.
The post holder will deputise for the ward manager as required and promote multi-disciplinary team working whilst leading predominantly on nursing issues and leadership.
The post holder will be expected to act into duty manager role occasionally in a supporting role to staff across prestwich site.

The start date for this post is February 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of dedicated consultants and other members of the multidisciplinary teams to help shape a modernising mental health service, which has been transformed following recent changes in community settings and inpatient provision.
The consultant will work on the Inpatient Unit at North View, North Manchester General Hospital. The new post holder will have consultant responsibilities for Fern Acute Ward. They will provide leadership and medical input. They will fulfil the role of the Responsible Clinician. They will be involved in training junior doctors, teaching medical students and engage in clinical management, audit and governance.
The team consists of:

Main duties of the job
Clinical role

This is a newly created post in a busy community-based CAMHS service which serves a population size of around 330,000. The service is commissioned to provide specialist mental health support for children and young people aged 5 to 18 years presenting with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. Depression, anxiety related difficulties, self-harm, difficulties associated with neurodiversity are frequent presentations leading to referral.
Main duties of the job
Provide Medical leadership for MDT meetings.
Carry out comprehensive psychiatric Assessment and provide treatment for inpatients on the ward.
Support ward-based staff to manage psychiatric emergencies.
Conduct patient reviews and lead Multidisciplinary ward reviews, CPA reviews and multi-professional meetings.
Be the responsible clinician for the purposes of the Mental Health Act 1983(amended 2007) and carry out duties in accordance with the code of practice.
Renew and maintain Responsible Clinician status according to agreed procedures.
Carry out comprehensive Risk Assessments and participate in Trust's risk management processes.
Provide medical leadership to the inpatient ward team.
Maintain a high level of effective communication and work flexibly and cooperatively with other parts of the service including other wards and inpatient units, community mental health teams, services, and primary care.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the day-to-day operational management, leadership, and development of a multi-disciplinary adult Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). Record all interventions in line with relevant clinical pathways (functional or dementia) as outlined within the CMHT operational procedure

Job summary
The Specialist Community Mental Health Team (SCMHT) is a multidisciplinary team that serves the town of Wigan, working closely with all other mental health Teams in the Wigan directorate. Its aim is to facilitate the treatment and management of adults of working age (18+) with severe and enduring mental health disorders, with associated complexities, functional impairment and risks, in the community setting.
The Wigan SCMHT operates on a sectorised model, ostensibly divided into 2 SCMHTs each covering their own geographical area within Wigan. The SCMHTs are based at the Pennington Unit, Leigh Infirmary and Claire House, Phoenix Way, Ince in Makerfield respectively.
Each SCMHT has 2 consultant psychiatrists, supported by a full-time speciality doctor and 2 full-time resident doctor trainees (the type of which vary in each rotation). Each CMHT also has a team manager, deputy team manager, advanced nurse practitioners, CPNs, psychologists, clinical pharmacists, OTs and support workers. Social Workers input into the SCMHT from the local authority for any specific social care assessments and/or interventions.
Main duties of the job
Clinical role
This a replacement post. In line with New Ways of Working, the post holder will provide a consultative, supervisory and supportive role to the multi-disciplinary team. Expected case load is around 330. the majority of clinical work is clinic based, but service users may also be seen at home, as required. The clinic can be at different sites, within short distance from the base.
Undertake assessments of referrals/ admissions to the service
Diagnose and formulate management plans in complex presentations.
Provide management in treatment resistant and complex presentations
Assessment and management of risk including of vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety and risk of harm to others.
Preparation of Mental Health Review Tribunal and Managers' Hearings reports and attendance at subsequent hearings.
Work in a collaborative way with MDT including external partners.
Work in partnership with psychiatrists from partner providers such as Forensic and Rehabilitation Psychiatrists.
Leadership role
Lead clinical decision making in MDT to ensure the delivery of high-quality care
Develop service clinical priorities in line with national and professional guidance and standards
Engage with service transformation programmes including attendance at Consultant meetings .
Educational role
Provide clinical supervision for trainees in gaining core psychiatric experience
Provide clinical supervision for trainees in achieving competencies in core general psychiatry

An opportunity has arisen to join the Therapy Team at Atherleigh Park Hospital for a Support Time and Recovery Worker. An interest in a range of creative, social and physical activities and a passion to share your knowledge and skills with people so they progress their Recovery is essential. There are five wards at the hospital for adults and older persons. We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic people to work on our Adult and Older Person wards including our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit. It is an established role and the post holders will collaborate in the planning, development and provision of a range of therapeutic, wellbeing and social activities for service users on wards and in our therapy hub.
The Therapy Team consists of Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Psychologists, Activity co-ordinators and Therapy Assistants as well as the ward health care teams. The post involves working with the multi-disciplinary team to promote the use of activity on a ward and off the ward in our Therapy Hub area. You will be working a seven day a week rota between the hours of 08:00 and 20:00 and provide patient centred, Recovery based activities with the aim of supporting discharge.

- Under the supervision of a qualified practitioner the post holder will plan and coordinate and implement a range of individual and group activities designed to meet the needs of the services users.
- The post holder will be required to use their initiative when working independently on the wards and are expected to report any clinical progress or change to a qualified practitioner and record findings in electronic care records.

GMMH is delighted to be able to offer a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, the position of mental health practitioner within the South Manchester and Trafford Mental Health Liaison Team.
The post holder will be required to work as part of the 24-hour All-Age Liaison Mental Health Service based at the Manchester Foundation Trust Hospitals at Wythenshawe and Trafford.
