An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident Clinical Support Worker who is committed to providing outstanding patient care to join our friendly team. Elmwood Unit and Medical Outpatient busy outpatient areas, delivering a diverse range of medical and surgical clinics and services.
Main duties of the job
We require a Clinical Support Worker to work across three outpatient departments: Elmwood, Cedar and the Medical Day Unit. The postholder will hold an NVQ in Care and will be expected to work both independently and as part of the wider multidisciplinary team. The role involves supporting the delivery of outpatient services and providing high-quality care to patients across a variety of clinics. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential for this post.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Ward Sister/Charge Nurse position on Byland Ward at Harrogate District Hospital.
We have a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team and together we are dedicated in providing the highest standards of care to patients who are frail and acutely unwell.
30 hours per week
Main duties of the job
The post is suitable for an experienced band 5 or equivalent who feels that they are ready for a new challenge who are able to motivate a team.
The post holder will need to be able to provide professional, clinical and managerial leadership to nursing staff within the Ward and have responsibility for maintaining the highest standards of care for patients in the Ward setting and to ensure patients have a positive experience.
The applicant would need to have good communication skills and be able to work closely with patients and families/carers to provide specialist nursing and care.
Be able to work as an effective member of the multidisciplinary team, providing high quality nursing care for patients to aid them through their acute illness and through the rehabilitation process.
To assist in the training of junior staff and students and act as role model.

Nidderdale is a busy 30-bedded multi specuiality, for patients with various and at times complex conditions and has a high number of admissions, transfers and discharges each day. Integrated Pathology Solutions LLP is an innovative joint-venture pathology service between Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. This partnership delivers a high-quality pathology service through collaboration between three Trusts for the benefit of patient and service users.
We are looking for, full- time Medical Laboratory Assistants (Band 3) to work as part of the Histopathology Department at Airedale General Hospital and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
The selected candidates will undertake a period of training and supervision to enable a competent level of skill in a multitude of tasks to be achieved. These tasks will include the embedding and microtomy of tissue samples as well as the performance of special staining. The candidates will also be expected to engage in digital pathology. There will also be a requirement to support a variety of clinical personnel during tissue dissection. Further duties will include the organisation of Multi-Disciplinary Meetings (MDT) in con junction with clinical colleagues both within the department and the wider hospital. There will also be a requirement to support the referral of material to external laboratories. These duties may vary depending on the site location.
In addition to technical skills the candidates should be able to demonstrate a keen willingness to work within the team and be able to input into service improvement as needed.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated nurse to lead the Macmillan Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist Team. You will provide expert specialist nursing care and leadership for patients with suspected or diagnosed lung cancer, ensuring high-quality, personalised care throughout the patient pathway.
Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will act as a clinical expert, key worker and patient advocate while supporting service development, quality improvement, education and research. This role offers an excellent opportunity to shape and develop lung cancer services while leading a dedicated specialist nursing team
Main duties of the job
- Provide clinical and operational leadership to the Lung Cancer CNS Team.
- Deliver expert care, support and advice for patients with suspected or confirmed lung cancer.
- Coordinate patient care across the cancer pathway, ensuring timely access to treatment and support services.
- Act as a key worker and advocate for patients and their families.
- Lead holistic needs assessments, personalised care planning and supportive care interventions.
- Work collaboratively with the Lung Cancer MDT and wider healthcare teams to deliver seamless patient care.

The post holder will work as part of the critical care team to provide compassionate, high quality care to patients, service users, carers and families. Job summary
This is a post suitable for a newly graduated cardiac Physiologist. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide a wide range of invasive and non- invasive cardiac investigations. The department also provides a respiratory service performing overnight oximetry, 5-channel sleep studies, spirometry, FENO testing and full lung function testing. We aim to provide an effective and efficient service. You will work to both national and local protocols and guidelines.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder can tailor their role within the team by agreement with the manager according to their own interests and balanced with the needs of the service. i.e, echocardiography, pacemakers and/or respiratory diagnostics.
- Undertake ambulatory monitor application including ECG, BP and event recorders. Ensuring device is appropriately applied and optimal recording gained.
- Download and analyse recordings, make comprehensive reports and take appropriate action without immediate supervision.
- Perform full lung function testing, reversibility studies, overnight oximetry and produce appropriate and technically accurate reports.
- Ensure maintenance, calibration, and general care of respiratory equipment.
- Perform medically supervised and cardiac physiologist led ETT, monitoring and assessing recovery. Perform same within Nuclear imaging and exercise.
- Become competent in head up tilt testing, managing equipment and reporting findings.
- Monitor and record hemodynamic measurements during cardiac catheterisation.
- Assist with the implantation of a range of cardiac devices. Perform post implant checks and optimal programming for the specific individual under the supervision of the lead cardiac physiologist

There continues to be exciting opportunities to work in a busy, expanding First Contact Practitioner (FCP) Service at Harrogate District Hospital.
As an FCP you will be embedded in Primary care practices, with close working relationships with a large, secondary care MDT team, including; Orthopaedics, Radiology and Rheumatology.

We operate 7 days, 365 days a year to support some of our most vulnerable, older people with frailty.
You will be based across our 4 community bases in addition to our new purpose-built Hub at Harrogate Hospital.

The Lung Cancer Screening Programme commences in the Trust in October 2026. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clerical officer to undertake the role of Lung Cancer Screening Assistant Co-ordinator to support the Lead Co-ordinator to deliver programme and provide excellent care to the participants. The successful candidate will require compassionate communication skills and have experience with HDFT patient systems.
The purpose of this role is to support clinical teams to implement the lung cancer screening programme. This role has been specially designed to support the programme and will require the post holder to evolve to support the programme to refine over time.
It is expected that the post holder will assist the team leader and use their own initiative within the LCS team. The post holder is expected to be experienced within the hospital setting with knowledge and evidence of specialised terminology, educated to a level required to perform the role or equivalent experience. The post-holder will actively support and contribute to the requirements of the service and ensure compliance with performance targets and quality standards required at a local and national level.
Main duties of the job
- Communicate with relevant departments and organisations to ensure that the patient's pathway is as timely as possible and all delays are avoided.
- Communicate with key departments (diagnostics, clinic bookings etc.) to ensure all tests and investigations are booked promptly and any issues are escalated.
- Be a single point of contact for patients, carers and the healthcare team - triaging sensitive enquiries and referring to the appropriate department within the hospital. Using own judgement as to what requires immediate action.
- Communicate regularly with patients to ensure that they are aware of upcoming appointments, diagnostic tests/investigations and operations and offer practical support with the arrangements. Being sensitive to the fact that patients may be anxious and distressed.
- Provide support and contribute to training of new / junior members to the team.
- Document and monitor all aspects of patient care coordination and service delivery onto the Trust IT systems e.g. Cancer Access Database, Winscribe, WebV, ICE, ICS, CRIS,PPM database etc. to ensure the patient's progress can be measured.
- Ensure that electronic notes are correctly maintained following guidelines and that the documentation contained therein is correct. High quality standards are to be always maintained.

HDFT are looking for an exceptional Operational Director (OD) to develop and lead our Planned Surgical and Children's Directorate at HDFT.
Working as a triumvirate with the Clinical Director (CD) and Associate Director of Nursing (ADoN) and Associate Director of Midwifery (ADoM) and based upon the trust's overall strategic vision and accountability framework, the Operational Director will drive the directorate strategy and oversee sound systems of governance and performance. The leadership of the directorate involves partnership working and shared responsibility between the OD, CD and ADoN.
The successful candidate will have a major role to play in leading the development of the Planned Surgical and Children's Directorate. Furthermore the ideal candidate will build great relationships within the system partners and deliver high quality services that are effective and sustainable.
Main duties of the job
The Operational Director will be responsible for providing the necessary strategic direction, leadership and vision, to enable the Directorate to meet its objectives as set out in the corporate strategy and will have a prime role in the provision and development of services.
The Operational Director will be responsible for the Operational Governance and the Clinical Governance within the Directorate. The ideal candidate will have highly-developed partnership working & leadership skills, a team-based approach, as well as drive & enthusiasm.
The Operational Director will be accountable to the Chief Operating Officer for the operational, contractual, constitutional and financial performance of the Directorate, but may delegate aspects of these functions as appropriate. The Operational Director will be professionally advised by the Chief Operating Officer who will provide support, where appropriate, to ensure that the Operational Director delivers his/her responsibilities with regard to the delivery of high-quality care. You will be an experienced operational leader that demonstrates strategic thinking and planning, with proven experience of complex project management & leading multi-disciplinary teams in a healthcare environment.
