Job summary
The Supply & Distribution department of the London Ambulance Service has invested in a new warehouse, inventory system and team structure to support one of the busiest ambulance services in the world.
The department is responsible for the supply of medical consumables, response bags and pouches, equipment and medicines packs to ensure frontline vehicles are stocked and available to respond to emergency calls. As a Warehouse & Delivery Operative you will play a key role in supporting frontline operations.
Your role will be split between warehouse and driving duties and we need people with warehouse and driving experience who can work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines.
You will be expected to work a rotating shift pattern covering 7 days per week, 52 weeks per year including Bank Holidays. Shifts will run from our Rainham and Hither Green sites. You will be required to work from both sites.
Applicants will be required to undertake a DBS check prior to starting.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the Warehouse & Delivery Operative are:
* Behaving consistently with the values and beliefs of the organisation and promote these on day to day basis.
* Act as a role model to colleagues, always seeking to maintain the highest standards of professionalism
* Routinely undertake warehouse duties in a safe, effective and efficient manner, commensurate with the post, as directed by warehouse Team Leader
* All post holders will be expected to be proactive in identifying service development opportunities within the warehouse and distribution environment.
* Undertake all driving duties associated with the delivery and collection of equipment, medical consumables and PPE
* Undertake the delivery and collection of medicines across the trust in accordance with the legal requirements for the transportation of controlled drugs.
* Use technology to "book in" consumables and equipment using the stock management system.
* Undertake all statutory and mandatory training in line with trust policy.

Job summary
We are seeking experienced and highly credible senior clinicians to join our cadre of on-call Strategic Medical Advisors. This unique role is ideally suited to Consultants with experience in emergency medicine, critical care, pre-hospital care or other relevant acute specialties with recent experience of working in an ambulance setting who can provide calm clinical leadership during complex and high-consequence incidents or periods of operational demand.
As a Strategic Medical Advisor, you will provide expert medical advice and clinical assurance to the LAS Strategic Commander, helping to ensure that appropriate clinical resources are available and used effectively during major and mass-casualty incidents, periods of heightened operational pressure, public health incidents and other situations presenting significant clinical risk. This is a rare opportunity to apply your senior clinical expertise at a strategic level, helping to shape the medical response to some of the most challenging incidents and events faced by London and its emergency services.
Candidates must be willing to be available during their on-call period for immediate telephone advice, and also be available to mobilise and arrive at the location of the LAS Strategic Commander within 60 minutes of activation.
Candidates are asked to submit a succinct supporting statement evidencing how their experience relates to the attached person specification during application.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert medical advice and clinical assurance to the LAS Strategic Commander during major incidents, mass-casualty events and other significant operational challenges.
- Supporting strategic decision-making to ensure appropriate clinical resources are available and utilised effectively.
- Acting as the senior clinical link between LAS, hospitals, NHS partners and other emergency services during incidents and periods of heightened demand.
- Providing strategic clinical oversight and advice within command structures, including the Command Cell and Emergency Operations Centre.
- Supporting the management of clinical risk during major incidents, public health events and periods of sustained operational pressure.
- Contributing to incident debriefs, organisational learning and post-incident reporting.
- Participating in a 24/7 on-call rota and being available to provide timely clinical advice and support when required.
- Attending training, continuing professional development activities, live exercises and table-top exercises to maintain operational readiness.

- Press enquires must not be dealt with by the SMA in isolation. Enquiries should be directed to the London Ambulance Service Trust Communications Department and advice sort from both the on-call Communications Manager and Police Press Officers if required to speak to the Media. The SMA should however be prepared to respond to media requests and participate in press conferences with the strategic ambulance commander if necessary
- Maintain an accurate and detailed log of events and decisions made must be maintained by the SMA throughout the incident suing either an approved paper log of NOGGIN
- The SMA should attend formal debriefs and ensure that the lessons learnt are shared in the form of a full post-incident report for NHS England Emergency Preparedness, Resilience & Response Team.
- Maintain own CPD and contribute to own personal development by participating in annual appraisal process and evidencing this to the LAS CMO, developing a PDP, and actively participating in agreed learning activities and evaluating effectiveness of learning in relation to role

Job summary
The Mental Health Specialist Practitioner will provide specialist enhanced clinical assessment and support specifically to patients who have called the London Ambulance Service for Mental Health issues, or suspected Mental Health issues.
The post-holder will follow a rolling rota that will see them complete shifts within our Emergency Operations Center undertaking telephone assessments on patients experiencing a mental health crisis and providing over the phone support to ambulance crews across the city with regards to mental health queries.
You will also have opportunity to work alongside a paramedic on our Mental Health Joint Response Car.
Working as an autonomous practitioner the post holder is expected to provide advanced assessment, clinical decisions and co-ordinated complex and challenging situations in regards to the management and treatment of this patient group. The Mental Health Specialist Practitioner will conduct telephone assessments and provide remote advice to crews on-scene with mental health patients as well as be deployed to as both a primary and an additional resource to mental health patients as well.

This position is a key leadership role within the Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) Directorate, leading the Clinical Assessment Service to ensure that patients receive a high quality, safe service. The CAS is a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians who provide telephone clinical assessments for patients who have contacted the service via 111 or have had their case transferred from the 999 service.
The role will be integral to the management of the CAS clinical workforce and the post holder will work within the senior management team to deliver, improve and design innovative service delivery models as part of the growth and expansion of the IUC within LAS and the wider London system.
The post holder will be the first line manager for the Clinical Team Navigators within the CAS as well as for the GPs and ACPs, working in conjunction with the CAS GP leads.
There will be a requirement, as part of the role, to provide 24/7 clinical oversight on an on- call basis.

Main duties of the job
As one of the Deputy General Managers you will be responsible for the delivery of KPIs and for implementing plans to improve them. You will be responsible for quality assurance and governance, as well as the day to day and long term management of your team.
This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team, whilst making autonomous clinical and operational decisions.
As part of the role, you will be responsible for maintaining patient safety by managing and balancing the risk across all areas of the CAS queue, ensuring that appropriate skilled clinicians deliver a safe, effective and efficient 24/7 service to patients.

Job summary
The Critical Care Transfer Service Operative is responsible for safely transporting critically ill patients between intensive care and other treatment centers. The role involves driving specialist vehicles, including under emergency conditions using blue lights and sirens, while supporting the clinical team with patient care, monitoring and reassurance.
The post holder works alongside trained clinical and transfer team staff, follows relevant London Ambulance Service policies and UK Ambulance Services Clinical Practice Guidelines, and ensures patients are transferred safely, efficiently and with dignity. They are also responsible for vehicle safety and readiness, working collaboratively with NHS colleagues and escalating any unusual or complex situations appropriately.
The role is primarily about driving and safely transferring critical care patients, while also supporting the clinical team and providing appropriate patient care throughout the journey.

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the London Ambulance Service as part of the ACCESS team totransfer critical care patients to and from Intensive Critical Care provision in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
What is ACCESS?
ACCESS is an NHSE London commissioned Critical Care Transfer and Retrieval service hosted by Barts Health and delivered collaboratively by London Operational Delivery Networks in partnership with London Ambulance Service NHS Trust. The service provides a dedicated and fully equipped mobile intensive care team for patients requiring inter-facility transfers whilst receiving ongoing organ support.
Working with experienced clinical colleagues you will be operating a specialist vehicle to transfer the medical team across London and beyond. You will be driving under emergency conditions to provide a smooth and safe transfer of the team and patient, ensuring the vehicle and team are safe and appropriately equipped.
There is 1 course planned based at our Brentside Education Centre. This starts on 19th October 2026 and will consist of 3 weeks of classroom training, which will result in the Ambulance Service First Responder on Scene (AFROS) qualification, followed by a 4 week Emergency Response Driving course which will result in a Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving (CERAD). You need to be able to start on the 19th October.
Main duties of the job
You will convey and transfer critical care patients to and from Intensive Critical Care provision in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
You will be responsible for the provision of transport for the Critical Care Transfer Services, (CCTS), undertaking all driving duties including the use of driving under emergency conditions with audible sounds and blue lights.
You will work as a Critical Care Transfer Service Operative alongside anotherOperative or appropriately trained staff member, to convey patients to treatment centresas directed.
You will work closely with CCTS or Transfer Team colleagues to ensure that patient journeys are planned and delivered in the most effective and efficient way.
You will drive all relevant vehicle types operated by the Service as required, in accordance withcurrent road traffic law.

£2,500 Skills Incentive Available
To support the recruitment of skilled clinicians, eligible applicants who hold both:

Main duties of the job
Successful candidates will be placed onto a dedicated Overlay Roster for a minimum period of 12 months.
The Overlay Roster has been designed to support operational resilience across London and provides additional workforce capacity where demand is highest. As a result, the roster will contain a higher proportion of unsocial hours than standard operational rosters.
Applications to move from the Overlay Roster through flexible working or reasonable adjustment processes will be considered centrally and balanced against operational requirements at the time.
As a Graduate Paramedic, you will:
- Work within your scope of practice and professional competence, seeking clinical advice and support when required.
- Deliver high-quality patient care in line with Trust policies, procedures and clinical guidelines.
- Assess, treat and appropriately refer patients using established care pathways.
- Reduce inappropriate demand on emergency services by supporting access to alternative healthcare services where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively across professional boundaries to support the delivery of urgent and emergency care.
- Contribute to the delivery of a flexible and responsive ambulance service for the people of London.
