An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated Receptionist to join our team in the Medical Education Centre at Basildon Hospital.
You will have a confident manner in both face-to-face and telephone communication, together with good IT skills. You will enjoy providing excellent customer care and have a passionate approach to your work.This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job
- Act as first point of contact for visitors to the department, providing a welcoming environment, meeting and greeting all visitors and handling their enquiries professionally and helpfully
- Provide an excellent customer care service, including dealing with visitors, telephone and written enquiries for details of meetings, promotions, examinations, activities, training and development sessions and taking action as appropriate
- Liaise with key external organisations to ensure the smooth running of study days and other important events
- Assist with signing-in and refreshments at events
- Ensure any messages are passed to the appropriate person promptly
- Provide assistance in supporting an audio-visual service to meet the needs of the users, ensuring appropriate use of equipment at all times
- Report technical problems and undertake basic maintenance such as replacing microphones and batteries
- Work with internal and external customers to determine their needs for audio visual support during their event
- Support with the set-up of audio-visual equipment for training sessions and meetings
- Configure equipment to ensure it meets the requirements of the event

Job summary
This post is a 12 month Trust Registrar post with the appointee being placed in the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department based primarily on the Basildon Hospital Site with additional Outpatient facilities at Orsett Hospital.
This post is designed to provide the successful applicant with a thorough and comprehensive approach to the medical and surgical management of patients with acute and elective Orthopaedic concerns. The educational methods include assessment of patients in clinics, pre-operative planning sessions, radiology, rounds and direct surgical experience. Depending upon the competency, there would be fair opportunities for taking a lead role in various operating, teaching and clinic related activities.
Main duties of the job
The duties outlined below are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service. The post holder will be expected to undertake the following:
1. To help provide Trauma and Orthopaedic service of highest standard: this is a Consultant led service.
2. To work flexibly with other colleagues to achieve hospital's agreed planned activity for in-patient and out-patient services.
3. To participate in the full shift middle grade on-call rota system as organized by the Directorate.
4. To participate in the trauma meetings as part of the on-call trauma rota.
5. To ensure that the standards of patient care are maintained and developed through clinical audits and evidence-based research.

Main duties of the job
The Healthcare Assistant (HCA) will function as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the ward or department to provide a seamless service & high-quality care to patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The HCA is expected to undertake care to meet the needs of the patients under the supervision of a qualified nurse, working within the Trust's policies and procedures and the philosophy of the ward. Being able to work as part of a team is essential to the role.

Step into a key administrative role supporting patient care across Broomfield Hospital. Although hosted within the Burns, Plastic Surgery and Dermatology Division, this role supports patient pathways across multiple specialties and services.
We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented individual to support the validation, cleansing and correction of waiting list data across diagnostic, planned care and inpatient pathways.
Working closely with service managers, clinicians, booking teams and patient access colleagues, you will help ensure patient records are accurate, support pathway validation and assist with resolving data quality issues. Here at MSE, we are committed to providing a supportive environment for the development of Occupational Therapists. Our Southend Hospital department operates an integrated therapy service, where Occupational Therapists & Physiotherapists work alongside each other in a variety of the clinical areas. The culture of multi-disciplinary working is well established and respected within the hospital.
We are currently looking for a dynamic Occupational Therapist to join the inpatient patient therapy service working on the Stroke Unit. This position offers the opportunity to develop clinically and managerially in a fast paced environment working within our established Inpatient Therapy Team.
Our Inpatient Therapy Team is led by our Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist with the support of Band 7 Team Leaders who are highly experienced in their fields. We have regular Occupational therapy team meetings and actively encourage CPD.
In return we offer training and clinical development opportunities with a comprehensive in-service training program and regular clinical supervision. We also provide additional support in order for staff to attend recognised courses within the area of the post to support staff development. The Therapy Team is also committed to supporting the development of leadership skills at Band 6 encouraging staff to attend relevant courses provided by the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The role involves the early assessment and management of stroke patients presenting to the hospital using a variety of standardised tests to facilitate safe discharge with the provision of any necessary equipment and care recommendations.
You will demonstrate an ability to be flexible and thrive in a fast paced environment. You will be responsible for day to day management of the service delivery and manage a complex caseload with support from your band 7 team lead. You will gain experience in supervising staff and become an accredited practice placement educator.
You will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to engage others, with a proactive approach to service development. You will also demonstrate a strong commitment to a person centred approach in line with the Trust Values and Behaviours.
Together with the team leaders in our in-patient specialities, you will by supported the Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead and the Therapies Manager in the strategic and operational planning for the department.

Main duties of the job

Job summary
The Senior Inquests Officer will work within the Legal Services Department at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT), overseeing the day-to-day management and monitoring of Inquests at the Trust. Reporting to the Inquests Managers, this role will be undertaken in collaboration with the Associate Director (AD) of Legal Services, Senior Inquest Advocate, Inquest Managers, and Inquests Officer.
You will support managing allocated Coronial matters by liaising with Coroner's Officers, Interested Persons, solicitors (if appointed), and Trust clinicians. Responsibilities include obtaining and ensuring the accuracy of witness statements and relevant documents (including medical records), complying with disclosure requirements, and preparing these for the coroner or other Interested Persons as needed.
A key part of the role involves undertaking advocacy on behalf of the Trust at Pre-Inquest Review hearings in Coroners' Court. These hearings often involve complex clinical and procedural issues, sensitive family concerns, and legal scrutiny. The post-holder will be responsible for presenting the Trust's position clearly, responding to queries from the Coroner and Interested Persons, and providing on-the-spot advice and reassurance to Trust staff in attendance, ensuring they feel supported in what can be highly stressful situations.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Inquests Officer will maintain close communication with Coroner's Officers and assess the need for legal representation, applying to NHS Resolution for funding when required.
You will act as a primary point of contact and support for all staff called to give evidence, ensuring that pre-Inquest meetings are arranged and conducted effectively.
Deputise for the Inquest Managers when required.Upon conclusion of Coronial matters, the Senior Inquests Officer will update relevant clinicians and departments, identify lessons learned, and contribute to the monthly Legal Services reports to disseminate findings Trust-wide.Additional duties include supporting staff attending court and Inquest hearings, assisting the Inquest Managers with legal research, and contributing to the drafting and revision of relevant policies and procedures.Further responsibilities include drafting legal documentation, undertaking legal research on relevant legislation and case law, assisting case managers by managing delegated tasks to ensure efficient handling of Inquest files, and preparing and delivering training to Trust staff on Inquest procedures and witness preparation.

Main duties of the job
As Production Manager, you will support the day-to-day operation of the Sterile Services Department, ensuring the safe, effective and timely reprocessing of reusable medical devices and surgical instruments. Here is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Senior Cardiac Physiologist (Band 6)/Chief Cardiac Physiologist (Band 7) - depending on experience for Devices/Invasive. As a Devices Physiologist you will undertake Pacemaker and ICD procedures, including implantation procedures, devices follow ups and home monitoring reviews.
All applicants need to have as a minimum independence for bradycardia pacing (implant and follow up) and independence in basic cardiac angiography. Applications will be considered for those with the required minimum skill set looking to obtain experience in other aspects of the role.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be present at pacemaker implants and will analyse device and patient interaction. Based on this analysis, the post holder will report to the implanting physician suitability (or otherwise) of electrode position(s).

Your role will be to act as point of contact for Paediatric, Strabismus and Neuro-ophthalmology support to junior medical staff within the department, to perform and supervise cataract surgery, to coordinate and undertake acute paediatric and strabismus service, under the guidance of the Consultant Ophthalmologist and coordinate all administration related to Paediatric and Strabismus outpatient and inpatient treatment.
You will participate in all paediatric and strabismus clinics and theatre sessions and following the completion of the fellowship, you should be confident in performing microscope assisted small incision strabismus surgery independently and also be confident in managing routine and complex ocular motility problems.

The Assertive Outreach Team/Pathway will deliver effective care to service-users in North East Essex who are experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems, often leading to multiple and complex needs and who may be difficult to engage. - Level 3 accreditation/certification Cardiac MRI and Cardiac CT
