We currently have opportunities available within the Emergency Department (ED), Theatres, Surgery, and Medicine.

Main duties of the job
The Health Care Assistant will function as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the ward or department to provide a seamless service & high-quality care to patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The HCA is expected to undertake care to meet the needs of the patients under the supervision of a qualified nurse, working within the Trust's policies and procedures and the philosophy of the ward. Being able to work as part of a team is essential to the role.
As a HCA at Broomfield Hospital, you will be required to:
- At all times maintain the dignity and respect of patients
- Assist in the admission process by accurately recording patient's demographic details
- Assist patients with personal and oral hygiene as instructed
- Assist patients with eating and drinking
- Monitor and accurately record dietary and fluid intake, appropriately reporting any abnormalities to the nurse in charge.
- Enable patients to access appropriate toilet facilities, collecting and disposing of body waste.
- Test blood sugars, urine and stool specimens & accurately record results.
- Remove male/female indwelling urethral catheters.

Job summary
This is a part-time post for a Locum Consultant, fixed term for 12-months, in Dermatology within Mid and south Essex Foundation trust, based at Basildon Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and this vacancy offers excellent opportunities to develop sub-specialist interests
We typically see 5000 new patients and 7000 follow up cases per year. In addition there were over 5,500 attendances for phototherapy last year and 200 patients underwent patch testing.
The department has a specialist registrar post which rotates with Broomfield Hospital. We have close links with the Royal London Hospital where the specialist registrar spends one day per week and all the consultants also attend the combined clinic and academic meetings at the Royal London Hospital. We are involved in teaching VTS trainees and medical students from Bart's and the London.
The Department participates in the teaching programme for the Diploma in Clinical Dermatology run by the Queen Mary College School of Medicine. We also run other educational events for local general practitioners with whom we enjoy an excellent working relationship.
Main duties of the job
Applications are invited for a 0.78 WTE fixed term Locum consultant in Dermatology to join our friendly and enthusiastic team of 13wte Consultant colleagues. This is sabbatical leave cover post based at Basildon Hospital.
We will support flexible working hours / part-time and will also support any special interest you may wish to develop within the NHS Framework. We are also committed to support any quality improvement projects you may wish to do as part of service improvement within Dermatology.
The department has aspirations to develop into a regional Dermatology specialist centre. Sub-specialist services currently provided include Paediatric Dermatology, Allergy, Dermatological surgery and Dermatopathology, and the department is in the process of developing MOHs Micrographic Surgery.
As a developing regional service Dermatology occupies a prominent position within the management structure of the Trust and has enjoyed significant investment in staffing and facilities over the past 10 years. With further expansion of the catchment area there is scope to further develop the general and sub specialist aspects of the service.

We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic sonographer who holds at least a post graduate certificate in obstretrics and gynaecology, that is CASE acrredited or equivelant, DQASS acrediation for Nuchal scanning is essential.
We have 7 rooms in the Maternity ultrasound department and our general department has 4 rooms. The range of Ultrasounds we perform include MSK, Abdominal / Pelvic, Neck and Soft tissue and Gynae US. Our dedicated Maternity Ultrasound department performs all Obstetric scanning . We also have community Ultrasound services at Orsett Hospital and Brentwood community Hospital. The department has invested in new imaging equipment and promotes service development and improvement initiatives.
Our general and Doppler department is open 7 days a week. We are seeking to extend the opening hours of our maternity department into the weekend as well.
We also staff a symptomatic breast care unit, paediatric hip service and an outreach clinic at Brentwood Community Hospital.

Main duties of the job
- To ensure the highest professional occupational standards are maintained at all times using a high level of specialist knowledge in line with local, regional and national guidelines where appropriate.
- To work autonomously performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetrics and gynaecology.
- To provide accurate dating based on foetal ultrasound measurements in the pregnant woman - crucial to the calculation and confirmation of the expected date of delivery, and for the planning of antenatal care and tests.
- Participate in the provision of a screening service to detect foetal abnormalities, monitor growth in the "at risk" foetus and management of the multiple pregnancy. To have the sole responsibility for obstetric ultrasound examinations and reports, and to liaise directly with the obstetric clinician or midwife where appropriate.
- To use analytical and judgement skills to interpret highly complex images, accurately differentiating between normal and pathological findings. To advise clinicians directly when a delay may have a direct impact on morbidity and mortality.

We are excited to offer the fantastic opportunity for a well experienced, qualified Dietitian to join our friendly and supportive team of Paediatric Dietitians. We would love to hear from you if you have post registration neonatal dietetic experience or are well versed in general acute paediatric dietetics working with babies and children, and have a passion or ambition to work in a busy neonatal environment.
You will be working alongside a team of friendly, supportive and experienced Paediatric Dietitians across 2 hospitals within Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust (Basildon and Southend Hospitals) and covering our neonatal caseload. You will be required to provide clinical leadership on these sites to neonatal dietetics, and supported by colleagues who also have neonatal experience. The post is offered as a 0.6 wte part time permanent position across 2 sites. Jobshare would be considered, subject to meeting the needs of the service.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will work alongside other paediatric dietitians to cover the neonatal caseload. Close collaboration with the wider neonatal MDT, including fellow AHPs, medical and nursing staff to ensure family integrated care.
You will participate in patient handovers, and MDT ward rounds. You will also have firm opportunity to develop the MSEFT neonatal dietetic service, alongside another Band 7 neonatal dietitian colleague in Broomfield Hospital (also part of MSEFT).

This post has been created to support the delivery of a Trust-wide liver service, ensuring patients receive high-quality, consistent care across Mid and South Essex. o Integral member of the Liver multidisciplinary team, contributing specialist knowledge to support the holistic management of patients with liver disease across inpatient and community settings. Works collaboratively with consultants, radiology, oncology, primary care, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centred care.
o Deliver and promote high-quality, evidence-based clinical nursing practice within hepatology, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex liver conditions, in line with national guidelines and best practice.
o Undertake and support diagnostic and monitoring procedures relevant to liver disease within scope of practice, ensuring timely escalation and follow-up of abnormal results in accordance with clinical protocols.
o Act as a specialist resource for secondary and primary care, providing advice, education, and support to healthcare professionals to improve early identification, referral, and ongoing management of liver disease.

Our Ophthalmology Department at Mid & South Essex Hospital Group (MSE) has a fantastic opportunity for a Paediatric and Strabismus Clinical Fellow to join it's specialised friendly team.

Our existing Ophthalmology services, led by 19 Consultants, provide a comprehensive range of services including Glaucoma, Cornea, VR, MR, Paediatrics and Oculoplastics supported by a range of specialist trainees, specialty doctors, fellows and allied health professionals.

Main duties of the job
Your role will be to act as point of contact for Paediatric, Strabismus and Neuro-ophthalmology support to junior medical staff within the department, to perform and supervise cataract surgery, to coordinate and undertake acute paediatric and strabismus service, under the guidance of the Consultant Ophthalmologist and coordinate all administration related to Paediatric and Strabismus outpatient and inpatient treatment.
You will participate in all paediatric and strabismus clinics and theatre sessions and following the completion of the fellowship, you should be confident in performing microscope assisted small incision strabismus surgery independently and also be confident in managing routine and complex ocular motility problems.
Active research is strongly encouraged and you will be given opportunities to publish in peer review journals and to present in national and international meetings

Job summary
We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity to join our friendly and supportive service as a Rota Co-ordinator. In this role, you will take responsibility for coordinating medical staffing rotas, managing on-call schedules within the designated directorates, and leading the development and ongoing management of out-of-hours and on-call rotas for your allocated specialities.
You will oversee sickness, annual leave, study leave, and special leave for all medical staff within the Directorate, working closely with Consultants and the Directorate management teams to ensure effective workforce planning and service continuity.

Main duties of the job
As the primary point of contact for all medical staff within the Directorate, you will proactively handle enquiries from staff and external agencies in a professional and timely manner. You will support doctors of all grades and specialty teams in rota design, compliance, and monitoring, ensuring adherence to EWTD requirements and the Terms and Conditions of Service for Doctors.
You will coordinate and manage medical staffing rotas, working closely with the Workforce Business Partner and Service Unit Managers to maintain EWTD compliance. Alongside the Service Unit Managers and the Workforce Medical Staffing team, you will also support the onboarding of new junior doctors, attend induction sessions, and ensure that all statutory and mandatory training requirements are met.
Your role will also involve attending a range of internal and external meetings related to rota design, monitoring, and workforce planning.

We are recruiting ODP's and/or Anaesthetic nurses, to be based across both our Broomfield and Braintree Community Hospital sites.
We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to join our established team of anaesthetic practitioners. We have 24 theatres across the 2 sites and cover a variety of specialities including Maternity, Burns, Upper GI and Plastics. We are also a key component of the Cardiac arrest team, attend trauma calls and attend airway emergencies, together with the anaesthetists, across the hospital.
Ongoing development and training will be offered including ILS, PILS and ALS with experience. We are also linked to the PMI at ARU, which allows us to attend simulation courses, along with other key members of the perioperative team.
