Job summary
Staff Nurse: Rose ward, Organic Older Persons' Inpatient
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Nurse to join our team. Rose ward is a specialist mixed-gender continuing assessment ward for the assessment and treatment of organic mental health, with 13 beds.
We work hard to make sure we provide quality, evidence-based and collaborative care in all of the areas we cover. This role will include interaction and communication with a wide scope of people including service users, health and social care staff, medical and carers.
So, are you someone who is passionate about delivering compassionate and individualised care, driving quality improvement and able to provide clinical leadership within an inpatient mental health setting? If you have the qualities described above then we want you to think about coming to be a part of our team.
Main duties of the job
You will be working within an inpatient service with a focus on the safety of our patients and the quality of the care they receive. You will have the opportunity to lead and direct the structure and focus of the ward routine for service users and staff.
As a Band 5 Nurse on Rose ward you will have the opportunity to develop both clinical and leadership skills in an exciting and dynamic environment.
Come and join us as we strive for excellence!
As part of our ongoing strive for excellence we are developing a 'care team' approach to patient centred care. We're looking for a hands on, flexible nurse who is skilled at developing therapeutic relationships.
It can be a challenging environment at times, so we need clinicians with a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and a hands-on approach. It is vital that the clinician is reflective around issues of power and difference, see the importance of working across systems, and can do that effectively.
If you have the drive to provide excellent care, can demonstrate high quality clinical skills and are willing to go the extra mile to help make a difference to people's lives then we would love to hear from you.
The role is shift working; we do days and nightshifts and you will be expected to be on a rota to accommodate a ward that is open 24/7. There will a mixture of days and nights, weekends and holidays.
About us
Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other. Job summary
East Norfolk Medical Practice (ENMP) wants a quality salaried GP to join our family asap, initially until the end of March 2027, with flexible working considered. This is a great opportunity to work in a very large, diverse, robust practice that still maintains a strong family feel. You will have great support from twenty two GP colleagues and an excellent wider team. We care for 32,000 patients from four sites with a varied population including highly deprived urban to rural coastal communities.
We prioritise work-life balance, professional development and sustainable workloads. Each session includes three hours of direct patient contact and one hour of protected administration time. You will also have access to Heidi, our AI enhanced clinical support tool. All new GPs benefit from a mentor, a week of study leave, and take part in ongoing clinical education.
To help you decide if ENMP is right for you, we asked our latest GP partner why they chose to stay after training. They said, 'ENMP offers a great deal to any potential recruit with a forward thinking culture, personalised patient lists, strong patient satisfaction, a successful business model, excellent staff morale and support, and partners who are always available for backup.'
Main duties of the job
At ENMP we are proud to continue to operate a personal list system with continuity of care the primary focus. However, we also meet the 'same day' patient demand through our RCGP award winning Urgent Care Team (UCT), which includes two duty GPs, five paramedics an advanced nurse with support from our PCN Home Visiting Team. This role is to primarily work as part of the UCT although there may be the opportunity to provide routine appointment sessions as well.
The successful applicant will be supported by a comprehensive multi disciplinary team including paramedics, advanced nurses, physician associates, care coordinators and experienced administrative staff and will have their own dedicated GP assistant.
About us
East Norfolk Medical Practice cares for our 32,000 patients across four sites in Great Yarmouth and Caister on Sea, Norfolk. Much of our Practice population reside in a neighbourhood among the most deprived 10% in England. This brings a variety of work unlike most other practice populations and our team, including our GPs, often feel they can make a significant difference to people's lives.
ENMP is a stimulating place to work and develop your career. We are committed to education, teaching five years of UEA students as well as Cambridge University students and training GP registrars. We run an enhanced homeless care service including outreach and offer all the other services and opportunities e.g. minor surgery, contraception services etc, that you would expect in a leading general practice.
ENMP is all about the patients and our team. We exist to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients and staff. We believe our people are what makes us unique and build our Practice on trust, high standards, continuous improvement, long term over short term benefit and being 'a great place to work.' This is reflected in our very low staff turnover i.e. 4% v 35.7% national average and high staff survey scores including 85% for respect and 96% for positive culture. It helps that we give you your birthday off work!
Don't miss this opportunity to join our friendly, caring and innovative team. Contact Jonathan Knights on 07809 573450 to arrange a visit or apply now!

Our new electronic patient record (EPR) will replace paper-based patient records from 2026 and will lead to better, safer, joined-up care at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and beyond.
At The QEH we provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, North Cambs and South Lincs.
We are an ambitious organisation that upholds our values of kindness, wellness and fairness. We recognise and reward our 4,000 staff and volunteers, priding ourselves on a community atmosphere and positive team spirit. We have approx. 530 beds across 33 wards and have newly built education and training facilities, a range of modern award-winning centres alongside a talented team of people ready to give you a warm welcome. Our Single Point of Contact (SPoC) Operational Hub plays a vital role in supporting patients, carers and healthcare professionals by coordinating access to community nursing and therapy services across Norfolk. As a Band 3 Operational Hub Administrator, you will be one of the first people patients and professionals speak to when accessing community services.
Working within a busy and supportive team, you will answer calls, process referrals, maintain accurate records and help ensure information reaches the right clinical teams safely and efficiently. This role is ideal for someone with excellent customer service skills, compassion, attention to detail and the ability to remain calm when dealing with sensitive or urgent situations.
This vacancy is being offered on a permanent basis, with both full-time (37.5 hours per week) and part-time opportunities available. The service operates Monday to Sunday, 07:30-18:30, 365 days a year, including Bank Holidays. Weekend and Bank Holiday working forms part of the rota, with appropriate NHS enhancements paid.

You will play an important part in the day-to-day coordination of community services, helping to make sure people are directed to the right team at the right time. The role requires excellent communication, sound judgement, strong administration skills and a genuine commitment to providing a helpful, professional and compassionate experience for every caller.
About us

SPoC is currently involved in a wider programme exploring future community service models, including opportunities for closer place-based working. No decisions have been made regarding changes to the service or this role. Any future proposals affecting staff or services would be managed through the Trust's established consultation and organisational change processes.
As a modern and inclusive employer, we invest in staff wellbeing, learning and development, offering access to coaching, mentoring, leadership programmes and wellbeing support. In return, we provide a supportive team environment, a minimum of 27 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 33 days with service, NHS Pension Scheme membership, NHS discounts, and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.
