Job summary
We are seeking a motivated Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (First Contact Practitioner) to join our established FCP team, working across Primary Care services in Bury.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 8a clinician to provide advanced musculoskeletal care within Primary Care, assessing, diagnosing and managing patients at their first point of contact. As part of the NCA-wide MSK service, the post holder will work closely with General Practice, community and secondary care services to ensure patients receive timely access to the most appropriate assessment, treatment and onward care.
The role also provides opportunities to contribute to service development, quality improvement, education and clinical leadership within an established and supportive FCP service.
Main duties of the job
- Provide expert musculoskeletal assessment, diagnosis and management for patients presenting within Primary Care.
- Act as the first point of contact for patients with undifferentiated MSK conditions, determining appropriate management and referral pathways.
- Utilise advanced clinical reasoning and decision-making to independently manage complex presentations.
- Request and interpret appropriate investigations within scope of practice.
- Refer patients to community, secondary care and specialist services as appropriate.
- Support patients with education, self-management and shared decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with GPs, practice teams, community services and secondary care clinicians to optimise patient outcomes.
- Maintain high standards of clinical documentation, governance and professional practice.
- Participate in clinical supervision, peer review, audit, service evaluation and quality improvement activities.
- Provide clinical leadership and act as a specialist MSK resource to Primary Care colleagues and the wider MSK service.

Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, patient focused, progressive Radiographer who is a good team players and will have excellent interpersonal, and communication skills and wishes to work at a centre specialising in trauma, neurosciences and stroke services
We have 5 MR scanners (3T Philips Elition, and three 1.5T Philips Ambition scanners) and an upgraded 1.5T GE scanner. The GE has been uplifted to a GE Artist with air coils and accelerator technology.
Main duties of the job
As part of our team, you will gain vast experience in imaging patients from a variety of specialities including, stroke, major trauma, neurosciences, and general surgery.
MR at Salford, part of the NCA, offers scanning to patients with implants such as pacemakers, cochlear implants, spinal stimulators, and patients who require general anaesthesia for MR. This will require you to have excellent team working skills, as you will be working closely with other departmental teams in delivering this service. You will rotate through all of our scanners, managing a wide array of acute and general examinations.

Job summary
We are looking for enthusiastic motivated individual to work primarily within The Floyd Unit on the Birch Hill Hospital Site at Wardle for our patient catering team. The position will involve the regeneration of frozen meals and preparation of simple foods such as paninis, sandwiches and salads.
This involves working directly with patients some of whom are compromised, on a one-to-one basis and being fully conversant with the nutritional state of all patients. You will advise patients on the various nutritional/dietary options available dependent upon the patient's needs. Full training will be provided.
You will ensure that patients receive their food/drinks in an environment that has been adequately prepared for mealtimes.
Please note that this role will include working on Bank Holidays, evenings and weekends. The shifts are primarily 10am till 1pm and 3pm till 6pm on a three-week rota although some flexibility will be required. On occasions you may be asked to support the team at Rochdale Infirmary as part of your scheduled hours.

- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness in line with Catering Food Standards Policy and legislation.
- Clean premises and equipment per departmental hygiene policy and HACCP regulations, ensuring a safe and tidy workplace under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Operate and clean automatic dishwashers.
- Prepare, plate, and distribute patient meals, accurately probe and record food temperatures per HACCP procedures.
- Collect patients' daily food requirements and restock the patient kitchen, ensuring correct storage, rotation, and stock levels.
- Complete all relevant documentation accurately.
- Complete provisions orders accurately, in a timely manner and ensure they are emailed across to the correct people for fulfilment.

An opportunity has arisen to work as part of the Emergency Department team, delivering a friendly, confidential, efficient, and professional reception and registration service for patients, relatives, and visitors.
The role involves managing a wide range of face-to-face and telephone enquiries from clinical staff, patients, relatives, GPs, and external agencies, providing accurate information and general advice as required.
A broad range of administrative and clerical duties will be undertaken to support the smooth running of the department. Main duties of the job
Patient Reception & Registration
- Receive and register patients, ensuring demographic details are accurate and updated using the National Spines service and relevant IT systems.
- Discharge patients and arrange follow-up or outpatient appointments within agreed timescales.
- Prepare admission paperwork and associated documentation.
- Receive, check, and process patient investigations, ensuring they are reviewed by clinicians or filed appropriately.
- Direct patients to clinical areas and provide assistance to those who are injured, unwell, or have mobility needs.
- Support patients with general enquiries, communication needs, and transport arrangements.
- Arrange interpreter services for patients with language barriers attending the GP Out-of-Hours (OOH) service.

As a peripatetic receptionist you will be required to have the ability to travel to different working locations, sometimes at short notice, within your working hours. Main duties of the job
The Outpatient Clinic Admin Clerk/Receptionist will be responsible for providing clinic administration and reception support to patients attending Outpatient Clinics. This will include receiving and greeting patients into clinic areas whilst recording the patient's attendance and clinical outcome on Patient Centre.
The Outpatient Clinic Admin Clerk/Receptionist will also be responsible for providing an appointment booking service to enable patients to book future appointments when leaving the department, this role may develop into the booking of future appointments into other clinical disciplines (i.e. diagnostic). This may also involve some telephone booking of appointments and the scheduling of forthcoming appointments, from other sources of patient enquires, whilst providing a confidential, efficient patient-friendly service.

Main duties of the job
The Domestic Housekeeper is an important member of the team who supports the wards. Assisting with completing patient menus, preparing & serving patient breakfasts and proving hot & cold refreshments at regular intervals.
Other responsibilities include daily cleaning of equipment and patient kitchen areas, ensuring fridge temperatures are taken and recorded accurately.
Maintaining the required levels of stock and rotation of food items.
You will be required to carry out specific duties to set procedures and standards. You will be required to work as part of a team and have the ability to use a degree of initiative to prioritise and organise the daily duties, whilst maintaining a professional approach at all times.

We're advertising an exciting opportunity for a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6 or Band 7 depending on experience) to join our community team on a 12-month secondment to cover maternity leave.

An exciting opportunity to join the Trauma Admin Team within the Trauma & Orthopaedic Directorate.
The role involves working alongside the Trauma Orthopaedic Nurse Coordinators and medical team to ensure all patients are appropriately booked for theatre, appointments and communicated with.
The successful applicant will attend daily meetings, liaise with patients face to face and over telephone and utilise clinical systems daily.
Main duties of the job
- Establish and maintain effective communication with patient/carers and families about complex matters providing a warm welcoming and enabling environment to support therapeutic relationships.
- Attend daily trauma meetings.
- Book all trauma patients on to theatre man.
- Organise New and Follow-up patient appointments into specialist fracture clinics.
- Organise beds on wards, critical care, and Day surgery unit.
- Liaise with theatre staff to ensure all kit and equipment is available for surgery.
- Provide advice and information to patients regarding the date and time of their surgery, organising transport and interpretation services as required.
- Liaise with all members of the trauma multidisciplinary team and work closely with the band 6 Trauma Coordinators and trauma Consultant team of the week to ensure Trauma lists are well utilised and clinical priorities of patients met.
- You will audit cancellations, breaches, readmissions, and outlier discharges, as well as a range of other general administrative duties.

Job summary
Based at Salford Royal Hospital (but will include travel to other sites within the NCA Trust), the role will involve undertaking maintenance and technical cleaning duties across the estate and working closely with the other members of the tradestaff teams.
As a member of the PLACE Team, you will have a maintenance / handyperson knowledge of HVAC systems or building related background including painting and decorating. You will have experience of using hand and power tools, working at heights from steps / platforms and be able to carry out maintenance, repairs and installation on a range of estates structural and fabric components/elements with minimum supervision throughout the Trust.
You will also act as the Trust representative in the absence of the Estates Officer/Supervisor when requested to do so as and when the need arises by line management.
Due to the wide range of services provided by the estates team, there is a comprehensive training package in place, allowing all our staff to be fully trained and competent in their role. This will, on occasion, require the post holder to attend various training courses that may involve a limited amount of offsite residential training.
Main duties of the job
The PLACE Teams' responsibilities, in support of the Estates Managers, consist of assisting in carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and technical cleaning work to provide a comprehensive maintenance service to all wards and departments in a multi- disciplined environment ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards, policies and procedures.
You will be working on the full range of estates building finishes to resolve issues many of which have a direct impact on patient safety, patient, visitor and staff experience and the hospital environment.
You will be expected to be able to complete minor repairs and other works on a range of components in the Trust's building portfolio, including Internal walls, floors, ceilings, windows and doors and external areas and roofs.
The post holder will be confident and understanding of the live healthcare environment and willing to learn processes which aid the ability to work in such an environment.
The hours of work are 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, core hours being 0800-1600.
From time to time you will be expected to work overtime to carry out emergency repairs as required.
You will be expected and be able to drive Trust vehicles as and when required.
You maybe required to work on other Trust properties on occasions.

Main duties of the job
- Your primary responsibility will be to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of network and telecommunications systems across NHS sites, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of critical infrastructure. You will oversee the deployment of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), wireless networks, and telecommunications platforms, employing best practices and industry standards to optimise system efficiency and support the evolving needs of healthcare professionals and patients.
- In addition to managing infrastructure, you will spearhead strategic initiatives to enhance network and telecommunications security. You will develop and implement robust security policies, protocols, and procedures, leveraging advanced technologies and threat intelligence to protect against cyber threats and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as GDPR and NHS Digital Data Security and Protection Toolkit.
- You will deputise for the Senior Manager, Networks and IT Communications where required acting as their second in command. You will also play a key role in stakeholder engagement and relationship management, collaborating closely with internal departments, external vendors, and industry partners to align network and telecommunications strategies with organisational goals and priorities. Your ability to communicate effectively and build consensus will be instrumental in driving strategic initiatives and fostering productive partnerships.

An opportunity has arisen to provide comprehensive administrative support to our busy Brooke Treatment Unit.
You will be responsible for supporting the effective and efficient running of the ward alongside the Ward Manager and Operational Service Team in order to meet the ward objectives and those of the organisation.
Key responsibilities include maintaining an elective waiting list, arranging and coordinating patient admissions and discharges, and to provide day to day administrative support to the ward.
The Administrator will be expected to work with minimum supervision.

Main duties of the job
- Managing the waiting list for patients requiring urgent, semi urgent or planned admissions to the ward, ensuring timely access to care in line with clinical need and service targets
- Organising patient admissions and discharges, including transfers and repatriation to and from local hospitals, ensuring clear communication and continuity of care.
- Managing the flow of patients attending the Neurology Ambulatory Care Unit (NACU).
- Liaising with Medical and Nursing staff, MDT team and other departments to ensure diagnostic tests, treatments, and interventions are arranged and completed promptly.

We are looking for enthusiastic motivated individual to work in our busy Catering Department at Rochdale Infirmary and associated sites who will be primarily working between retail and patient catering regeneration of frozen meals and preparation of simple foods such as breakfast items, sandwiches and salads.

Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a post CCT Fellow in the Departments of Upper Gastrointestinal (Oesophagogastric) and Bariatric Surgery, at Salford Royal Hospital. This is a 12 month post which will provide an opportunity for the appointee to learn and develop subspecialty-level skill in the management of Oesophagogastric cancer, Bariatric and Complex Benign Upper GI Surgery.
The post would be suitable for doctors on the specialist register for general surgery or who are in the final 6 months of training.
Salford Royal Hospital, part of the Northern Care Alliance, is the sole surgical centre for Oesophagogastric cancer surgery for the whole of Greater Manchester (population of 3.2 million). The department also provides bariatric surgery for the Greater Manchester. Since September 2018 the unit has undertaken all Oesophagogastric cancer resections and all complex benign upper GI operations for the patients of Greater Manchester. It is estimated that the unit performs approximately 160 Oesophagogastric cancer resections and well over 200 bariatric operations each year. The unit has special interest in minimally invasive Upper GI surgery and this post is designed to provide opportunity to develop advanced surgical skills in minimally invasive oesophagectomy, gastrectomy, bariatric and complex benign Upper GI surgery, as well as gaining confidence in undertaking open Upper GI cancer surgery.
Main duties of the job
This post is a Fellowship for a Senior Upper GI/Post CCT Trainee with pre-existing documented advanced UGI and laparoscopic skills and a specific interest in OG cancer surgery. The fellowship is designed to lead to a consultant post and requires competence in:
o UGI surgery outpatients and patient selection criteriao Multidisciplinary team workingo Preoperative patient preparationo Technical skills in OG cancer surgeryo Postoperative careo Management of complicationso JAG (or near) accreditation to perform independent endoscopy
The programme will be structured around a regular weekly timetable offering extensive elective and emergency Upper GI experience. The appointee will participate in MDT, audit and management meetings, and will be encouraged to attend suitable training courses and conferences. Additional involvement in surgical research/teaching and training is also encouraged.It is proposed that the appointee will provide 10 PA's per week (9 PA's DCC and 1 SPA) which will include outpatient clinics, operating theatre lists, endoscopy lists and administration.The fellow will work with the team to ensure good quality pre, peri and postoperative care of the Upper GI Surgery patients. He/she will be working jointly with the other trainee surgeons in order to provide cross cover and continuous service.

Job summary
The purpose of this role is to support the Colorectal and Stoma Care Specialist team in the delivery of nursing care and service to the patients who are on the Colorectal Cancer Pathway from pre-diagnosis to end of life care in secondary care and at any point of their colorectal pathway. The post holder will also be expected to support the inpatient stoma care service for patients who have had a stoma fashioned for either benign or malignant conditions. The post holder will be expected to work both autonomously or as a team member.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide support to the Colorectal and Stoma care nursing team and the patients that we care for by contributing to patient assessment and independently creating and also reviewing care plans .To provide support with clinical administration, including expediting results, distributing, and then completing being able to carry out electronic Holistic Needs Assessments (eHNA's) with patients after the relevant training and support is given) either over the telephone or face to face in the ward or clinic environment.
The post holder will also by expected to work with the Acute Stoma care team to provide inpatient stoma care to patients that have a colostomy, ileostomy, urostomy or nephrostomy as part of their treatment be this for either a benign or malignant condition. This includes provision of care at any site within the Northeast Sector of the Northern Care Alliance . You would be expected to review, provide stoma care education and support to patients with either an established or new ostomy.
You will also be expected to participate in audit, contribute / produce both monthly and annual reports as well as feedbacking back data at the nursing and colorectal division meetings.
