Reference: 267-BUCKSCONS-104-C
Job summary
We are recruiting for a full-time Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Buckinghamshire CAMHS Recovery and Support Pathway and work with a well-established multi-disciplinary team in the Sue Nichols Centre, Aylesbury and Saffron House, High Wycombe.
You'll provide psychiatric clinical input and leadership within a recently redesigned service delivering targeted mental health care to children and young people with predominantly emotional disorders, including neurodivergent young people.
The Recovery Teams are structured to support two cohorts: young people who benefit from Focussed Intervention and Recovery Support (FIRS) and Specialist Intervention and Recovery Support (SIRS). These teams are a core part of Buckinghamshire CAMHS providing support for young people who are experiencing a moderate to severe mental health condition such as depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and bipolar disorder.
You'll work 10 programmed activities with a job plan typically comprising 75% direct clinical care and 25% supporting professional activities, in line with Royal College of Psychiatrists' guidance. Opportunities are available to develop interests in service development, quality improvement, and teaching and training within a well-established, supportive multidisciplinary team and consultant peer group.
Join us in shaping brighter futures for children and young people at one of the UK's leading mental health Trusts; we would be delighted to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
This is a great opportunity to join a welcoming and supportive group of substantive consultants within the wider service, and work with a team who truly value working together to provide the holistic care young people and families need from one of the core teams within CAMHS. The Service as a whole has a strong focus on areas such as quality improvement and wellbeing, supporting staff with a flexible approach to help their work-life balance, and has established itself as a great place to train for resident doctors in recent years.
Buckinghamshire is also a fantastic place to live for those looking to move, with great opportunities for family life (including nationally renowned schools), access to beautiful country side in the Chilterns, as well as easy access to London and Oxford for those who value the cultural opportunities the different cities provide. It is also an easy commute for those living in neighbouring areas such as north London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Oxfordshire.
We offer rewarding career development with protected SPA time as part of your job plan, encouraging you to take leadership courses to enhance your skills. We also offer a relocation allowance of up to £8,000 for external applicants (subject to eligibility criteria).

Job summary
Exciting new role for a Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologist in our Specialist Community Forensic Team covering Oxfordshire!
Do you want to work with forensic service users - to help reduce the length of their admissions and support them to successfully transition into the community? Are you creative and passionate about service development and trauma-informed care? Do you enjoy multiagency and multidisciplinary working? If so, this job might just be for you!
Our service users have complex mental health difficulties, often including severe and enduring mental health problems and trauma histories, as well as risk histories. Transitions are often a time of anxiety for most of us, but particularly so for our service users who often have complex attachment needs and may have spent a significant length of time in secure care. The Specialist Community Forensic Team aims to provide intensive in-reach support to inpatients to help them to prepare for and navigate their discharges and safely settle into life in the community. We also seek to provide support to other services, such as housing providers and local Adult Mental Health Teams, so that our service users can increasingly access non-forensic provision and ultimately transition into primary or secondary care services.
Main duties of the job
The role includes supporting the MDT with developing psychological formulations and risk formulations, contributing to needs assessments, providing consultations and offering advice to other professionals/agencies/services, designing and delivering training, offering supervision, joint working, and direct therapeutic interventions with service users. The role involves a lot of interfacing with other teams, agencies and services. It is an exciting and varied position with lots of scope for creativity.
About us
Oxford Health is a great place to work and to be able to showcase the best of yourself when making an application please read the "candidate guide to making an application" and ensure your supporting statement is tailored to the role you are applying for and addresses any essential criteria.
