Social Worker - Moving into Adulthood Team Join Oxfordshire County Council's Moving into Adulthood Team and play a key role in supporting young people as they transition into adult social care services. Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you will use a strengths-based approach to empower individuals to identify their goals, maximise their independence and achieve positive outcomes. You will undertake assessments, develop support plans, work closely with families and carers, and collaborate with a wide range of professionals and partner agencies to ensure young adults receive the right support at the right time. The team is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred practice and offers regular supervision, manageable caseloads and excellent opportunities for continued professional development. You will be encouraged to contribute to service improvement, participate in group learning and develop evidence-based practice while maintaining the highest professional standards. We are looking for a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England who is passionate about supporting young people and committed to promoting independence, equality and social justice. Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach and a commitment to continuous learning are essential. Main duties of the job

Oxfordshire Shared Lives is looking for compassionate, reliable and supportive individuals to become Shared Lives Carers. We are keen to recruit people from all backgrounds who feel they can offer this type of paid support in their own home. Shared Lives Carers are approved with the County Council and work on a Self -employed basis. This means that you can still do your day job if preferred or, focus on working from home and offer someone anything from occasional short breaks through to a longer-term, full-time arrangement whereby someone lives with you. You don't need to have had previous experience in Social Care but you do need to have a positive approach, be willing to learn , have a spare bedroom and be comfortable sharing your home. Permanence Support Coordinator - Adopt Thames Valley Join Adopt Thames Valley and play a key role in supporting adopted children, adoptive families and others affected by adoption across the Thames Valley region. You will provide professional supervision, guidance and leadership to social workers, occupational therapists, co-ordinators and students, supporting their development while ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and procedures. You will model strengthbased, personcentred practice and create a supportive and reflective learning environment.You will hold responsibility for overseeing complex casework, including safeguarding enquiries, Mental Capacity Act work and courtrelated activity, offering professional oversight and challenge where required. The role includes chairing Best Interest meetings and strategy meetings, acting as Safeguarding Manager when appropriate, and contributing to service improvement through quality assurance activity such as audits and performance management.Alongside practice leadership, you will support the effective management of the service by allocating work, managing demand and prioritisation, and authorising the use of financial resources within agreed delegation, ensuring responsible use of public funds. You will work closely with Team Managers and deputise when required, contributing to operational decisionmaking and continuous improvement. The role also supports recruitment and retention activity and uses data and insight to strengthen practice and performance.About YouYou will hold a recognised professional qualification in social work and be registered with the relevant professional body. You will bring substantial experience of working in statutory adult social care, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Mental Health Act 1983.You will have experience of supervising and developing others, with the confidence to provide constructive challenge, professional guidance and motivational leadership. You will be calm under pressure, adaptable and solutionfocused, with strong communication and decisionmaking skills. An understanding of budget management and the ability to balance risk, resources and outcomes is essential.You will be committed to strengthbased practice, professional development and continuous improvement. Postqualifying training such as Practice Educator, Best Interest Assessor or Approved Mental Health Professional, or a willingness to work towards one of these, is desirable.Your office base may be subject to change as we are currently transitioning between temporary and permanent office locations due to the closure of County Hall.
