Are you an experienced Registered Nurse ready to take the next step in your career?
Join our Inpatient Unit as a Senior Registered Nurse, where our low nurse-to-patient ratio gives you the time to provide the quality of care patients and families truly deserve.
You will combine hands-on specialist palliative and end-of-life care with the opportunity to develop your clinical leadership skills in a supportive and experienced team.
Previous hospice experience is not essential. We will support you with specialist training and ongoing professional development.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Registered Nurse, you will lead shifts and coordinate care, using your clinical judgement and autonomy to respond to patients changing needs.
You will provide skilled, compassionate nursing care, support patients and those closest to them, and work closely with our multidisciplinary team.
You will also support the development of Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and students through supervision, one-to-ones and mentoring, giving you valuable leadership experience while remaining closely involved in clinical care.

Prospect Hospice is an independent hospice supporting a community of 300,000 people in Swindon, Marlborough and North Wiltshire, and the villages of Lechlade and Fairford in Gloucestershire. It is the only dedicated provider of specialist end of life care services within its locality. The Hospices multi-professionals teams support people in the community, in care homes, at the Great Western Hospital and at the Hospice in Wroughton. Care is also extended to the families and friends of patients.
Since 1980, Prospect Hospice has provided dedicated end-of-life care service for people living in Swindon, Marlborough and north east Wiltshire. We bring care, comfort and confidence, around the clock, every day of the year.
Our aim is to provide excellent, personalised and compassionate care for everyone in our community who is affected by a life-limiting illness. You will participate in the Senior Nurse on-call rota, providing support to nursing colleagues out of hours within the agreed scope of authority. There will also be a requirement to work shifts within the community and flexibly across both teams when needed.
The role is 36 hours per week over seven days, working both days and nights. Part-time hours will be considered.
