Job summary
Band 3 Radiology Department Assistant (RDA) working at West Berkshire Community Hospital
An exciting opportunity for an RDA to join our team. The post involves working in our new state of the art Radiology MRI department at WBCH providing support to patients and clinical teams.
RDAs provide support to the department 7 days per week between 8am and 8pm. However, if you are only able to work weekends, we would still encourage you to apply, as flexible working arrangements may be considered.
Main duties of the job
- The postholder will assist Radiographers, Consultant Radiologists and other staff working within the MRI Departmen carrying out radiography-related duties, as required
- They will contribute to the provision of high quality patient care for all patients attending the Radiology Department, ensuring seamless delivery of services within the designated work area
- The postholder will carry out assigned tasks involving direct patient care, under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner. To include supporting patients with personal care needs, and providing chaperoning support as required
- They will work within the reception areas and appointments centre, as required, performing patient reception duties, and general administrative & clerical tasks as defined by the Service Manager
- The postholder is required to take accountability and responsibility for own actions ,and to work within the CARE values of the Trust

We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity to come and join our team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.
We have been accredited as a GOOD hospital following CQC inspection and are looking to employa dynamic, confident, motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Therapies team to manage the administrative processes, predominantly in the Outpatient Physiotherapy department.
In this role you work closely with the outpatient Physiotherapy team, undertaking an array of responsibilities and tasks to support the smooth and efficient running of the service, including reception duties. This role will have a focus of back-office administrator, supporting the team by processing referrals to the Physiotherapy department.

Main duties of the job
- To work closely with the outpatient physiotherapists, to accurately complete a variety of essential service tasks.
- To be able to work unsupervised and meet deadlines as necessary.
- To communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team and the public, promoting good working relationships.
- To be a physiotherapy receptionist and patient contact clerk working in the physiotherapy outpatient clinic at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
- To facilitate both new and follow-up patient bookings for the department as this department does not have the support of the contact centre/booking office.
- To work effectively as a team member in carrying out administrative duties to assist clinicians in their roles.
- To participate in providing a high quality, effective and efficient physiotherapy therapy service.
- To undertake delegated tasks to contribute to the safe and smooth running of the service.

Main duties of the job
The Royal Berkshire Endoscopy Unit is committed to delivering high quality patient-focused service, is a well-equipped and modern department which specializes in a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients attending as day cases, in-patients and emergencies.
We undertake the Bowel cancer Screening Programme as part of the National Screening Programme.
Following induction you will have the opportunity to undertake a number of specific endoscopy courses in line with your ongoing development programme.
We are a very busy, expanding unit and are looking for some reliable and flexible staff.
The unit is open Monday to Saturday 08:00 to 18:30.

1. To provide a full personal assistant service to either designated Directors in order to help ensure the smooth and efficient organisation and carrying out of their responsibilities.
2. To be the first point of contact for the Directors visitors and telephone callers, providing callers with the information, advice and guidance to meet their needs. - Hold standing as the most senior therapeutic radiographer within RBFT and provide strategic, professional and operational leadership for all radiotherapy services. Act as the Trust's principal expert advisor for radiotherapy, influencing organisational strategy, workforce planning, clinical governance, service transformation and regional cancer system developments.
- Provide visible and inspirational professional leadership for the radiotherapy workforce, creating a high-performance culture that promotes innovation, continuous improvement, research, education and professional excellence.

We are currently looking to recruit a Clinical Coding Specialty Lead (ACC) to join our centralised Clinical Coding Team. This is a permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week) hybrid clinical coding role.
The clinical coding department of Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for determining the clinical coding of around 12,000 episodes of care per month. The Trust provides a full range of hospital specialties, supplemented by a significant number of regional and national specialist services.
The trust has a fully electronic medical record (Cerner EPR) and all clinical coding is undertaken from electronic source documentation.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate an extensive understanding of ICD-10 5th Edition and OPCS 4.10 classifications, as well as a thorough understanding of National Clinical Coding standards and conventions. All applicants will need to have experience of clinical coding across a wide range of specialities in an acute NHS Trust setting. A good knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology is also required.

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 MRI Radiographer based at West Berkshire Community Hospital (WBCH) in Newbury, part of the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. WBCH is a Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) and forms part of our growing cross-site MRI service.
Due to the expansion of our MRI service, we have vacancies for enthusiastic Band 6 Diagnostic Radiographers with demonstrable post-registration MRI experience. Successful candidates will support our growing cross-site MRI service, with some Radiographers based at WBCH and others rotating between RBH and WBCH. Occasionally, all Radiographers will be required to rotate across all three sites, RBH, WBCH and Bracknell, to support service delivery and professional development.
The successful candidate must have demonstrable post-registration skills and experience in MRI imaging.
Main duties of the job
Some of the successful Radiographers will be based at WBCH (West Berkshire Community Hospital) and others rotating between RBH (Royal Berkshire Hospital) and WBCH. Occasionally, all Radiographers will be required to rotate across all three sites--RBH, WBCH and Bracknell--to support service delivery and professional development.

Job summary
Band 2 Occupational Therapy Assistant (Elderly Care)
Exciting opportunity to join a compassionate and aspirational Therapy Team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
The role will entail supporting older people who are admitted in to an acute hospital to regain function and independence. A big part of the role involves supporting to get patients home safely.
The successful candidate will work with qualified Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and other member of the multidisciplinary teams to deliver a high quality service for patients.
In this role you will work in line with the trust's CARE values to deliver person-centred care to ensure the best outcomes for patients in our care.
You will work with the Occupational Therapy team to assess and treat patients. You will work with the MDT and community partner organisations to ensure patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time whenever possible.
Main duties of the job
- Face-to-face contact with patients, completing 'initial interviews' and information gathering with patients, their next of kin and other organisations such as social services.
- Delivering Occupational Therapy, working with the guidance of an Occupational Therapist to rehabilitate patients through practicing and supporting activities of daily living such as, washing and dressing, meal preparation, transfers.
- Supporting the completion of home visits with patients along side a qualified therapist.
- Liaison with internal teams to promote smooth transition for patient from hospital to community.
- Manual handling.
- Personal care.
