Are you a compassionate Registered Nurse seeking a new opportunity? We have a Leg Ulcer Nurse position available within the team, based at 7 different locations across West and East Somerset, which includes Bridgwater, Burnham on Sea, Taunton, Wellington, Minehead, Shepton Mallett and Wells. You will be expected to cover all 7 clinic locations.
Our service covers the urban and rural areas of West Somerset, from the Quantock Hills to Exmoor. These positions are dayshifts only and are 8.30am-4.30pm. There are no late, weekend or night shifts. We offer flexible working solutions where possible to ensure a work-life balance.
You'll need to be a car driver with your own vehicle to visit each clinic location. We offer a generous mileage allowance to cover the use of your car for NHS business, which includes both mileage and depreciation.

Main duties of the job
As a community Leg Ulcer nurse, you'll be giving a high standard of care to patients dealing with venous, arterial and mixed aetiology leg ulcers.
You'll develop a broad range of nursing skills, including doppler assessments, compression therapy, applying compression garments, giving a comprehensive holistic assessment and managing Well Leg Clinics.
We are an integrated team with the Vascular Department at Musgrove Park Hospital, working closely with them to ensure our patients get a high standard of care.
You'll need to make autonomous clinical decisions and create holistic care plans, with the support of your colleagues and Team Leaders.
You will be expected to work independently in each clinic location, with the occasional help from an experienced HCA.

Main duties of the job

*To collect and deliver goods in inclement weather whilst either using electric tug, master mover or manual trollies.

Main duties of the job
The Screening Practitioner delivers pre-assessment clinics, cares for the patient whilst undergoing Endoscopic or radiological procedures, reviews histological outcomes and delivers pathological results to patients using defined pathways. The successful candidate will also be required to complete the mandatory structured Induction Programme and the Liverpool John Moore University/Plymouth University (Torbay) SSP Degree/Masters module which is compulsory to the role.
The Screening Practitioner will deliver a variety of clinics. These include a FIT clinic, where the post holder discusses potential reasons for an abnormal result and pre-assesses the patients suitability for colonoscopy and bowel preparations; A results clinic, where the screening practitioner will be informing of histological results and breaking bad news to patients following their colonoscopy, discussing the findings, and explaining what happens next on their pathway; Surveillance clinics and Lynch Syndrome surveillance clinics, where the screening practitioner reassesses patients who are following the surveillance pathway and assess and arrange a colonoscopy.
The Screening Practitioner attends endoscopic procedures for live data collection and to maintain standards. The Screening Practitioner is responsible for all histology sent from colonoscopy and accurate documentation of Optical Diagnosis.
The post is based at Musgrove Park Hospital with regular travel to Yeovil District Hospital to cover SSP clinics and endoscopy lists.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the Somerset Faster Diagnosis team, the post holder will play a key role in ensuring the timely and effective management of patients referred on a suspected cancer pathway and those accessing services through the team's self referral pathway's. - Provide visible clinical leadership within the ward, promoting high standards of nursing care and recoveryfocused practice

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Forensic / Clinical Psychologist to join the Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT) based in Bridgwater.
We welcome applications from experienced psychologists at Band 8a, as well as those suitable for a Band 7 preceptorship leading to Band 8a. Newly qualified psychologists with relevant experience, and trainees approaching qualification, are encouraged to apply.
The SCFT is a developing and innovative service supporting individuals with severe and enduring mental health difficulties and complex forensic risk profiles. The team works across inpatient, community and forensic pathways to support admission avoidance, facilitate successful discharges from secure services and improve long-term outcomes for service users.
As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, risk assessment and intervention for individuals with complex forensic mental health needs. You will also play an important role in service development, consultation, training, supervision and ongoing improvements within forensic mental health services.
Main duties of the job
- Provide specialist forensic and clinical psychological assessments, formulations and interventions for individuals with complex mental health and forensic needs.
- Undertake structured professional judgement risk assessments and contribute to risk management planning.
- Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions on an individual and group basis.
- Support admission avoidance, discharge planning and community reintegration for individuals accessing forensic services.
- Provide psychological consultation, guidance and support to multidisciplinary colleagues and partner agencies.
